Don't they have a 'no smoking after 1am' rule now though? Even on the street outside?

This small, late opening bar is like an old friend who you can drop in at, late in the day and they won’t be annoyed.

And, they’ll sell you beer AND let you smoke a pre roll.

I’d read on the forum here, that it was now De Kroon, right opposite Snoop Dog’s CS (I don’t like RAP).

Happy to report that yes, it was now Da Kroon, but they had a bit of a disagreement and it’s reverted right back to being:

This is the clock behind the bar

No, you’re not looking into a mirror.

Definitely no tobacco or skinning up outside. But that normal everywhere now you just need to be discreet much more than before

It’s happening

I remember 't Nes catching a €1000 fine shortly before reverting to the current owners. I knew about the impending "changes"; if The Bottle is taking it seriously it must be real. Perhaps really real

Since the Dutch national government made the mandate that Horeca (hospitality/food & beverage service sector) establishments should be smoke (re: tobacco) free in 2020 with the soft introduction per 1 January, 2020 and hard enforcement per April, 2020.

So far it seems places like Batavia are attempting to skirt this by saying joints only, in theory weed only, in practice spliffs are being burned. But they're being more heavy handed against those in obvious violation - i.e. checking for people blatantly smoking actual cigs or with cigarette packs/rolling tobacco pouches on the table.

ACD Page: Nightbar The Bottle

Honourable mention for The Bottle, Oudebrugsteeg, which is a small (cozy) smoke friendly bar (no tobacco) which benefits from late opening (at least 3am) and cool Dutch staff.

Beer 5€ pint (500cl) which is about par.

Very central.
