Newgog Trip Report 29/9/2008 - 2/10/2008

So far: 1. Dampkring II - NYCD very impressive but low stock 2. Barney's Coffeeshop - Willie Nelson - almost as good as the NYCD 3. I thought it would be funny to train my dog to lie down and play dead if I waved weed in front of them. I used to use the command "Elvis" as a trigger for play dead. I was trying to get a previous dog to crouch like it was going to take a shit, and then play dead. Didn't work out but it am...

Don't carry through an airport, you are just looking to get nicked. Much better is mailing it home. At least in the UK, the worst that can happen is you lose your gear as they can't prove its yours. There is a thread on this topic in the forums, just do a search. Smell proof bags only work against h...

Dogs are trained to react to specific scents. Usually drug dogs are trained for a range of substances. It may have been that the dog in question was relatively new to the job and had only learned weed so far.

Willie Nelson is the best strain name as far as I am concerned. It even gets name checked in "Bobcaygeon" a song by the Canadian band The Tragically Hip (they play at the Paradiso once a year or so).

Lived there for a decade

I lived in Saudi for more than a decade and can tell you that weed and hash are very available and not the sort of thing you get topped for. If he was topped for smuggling hash, he was a repeat offender and a stupid one at that. Local hash is easily available. Executions are for smuggling heroin and...

Stoner

And of course the Scottish gave us the "stoner." Its a large sausage, wrapped in doner kebab meat, then battered and then deep fried. Apparently its something like 3000 calories. But don't feel bad Scotland, the Deep South of the US is similar. They will batter and fry anything if ...

Smoking in the Pigs

Smoking is allowed on patios. Uptown (by Vodelpark) closes its patio at 9pm. Downtown closes its patio at 3am. As I understand the Pig management are looking into how they can provide smoking rooms in both hostels. To be fair to them, they don't want to get hit with the 2400 euro fine and its the la...

GBP to Euro

I work in a British bank in the foreign exchange/payments area. I can tell you that almost every UK institution charges you a commission on currency exchange, plus a transaction fee plus a spread charge whenever you use an ATM abroad to withdraw cash. If you use an ATM overseas, at least try and mak...

Outrageous Seed Price

Yeah I saw the seed price and couldn't figure that out. Its nice stuff but there are lots of stuff that is just as good. As far as I know Sensei has a lock on the genetics, so that maybe one reason its so expensive, no competition.

Czech Soul Food

Deep fried cheese is a staple in Czech restaurants. My wife is on a low carb diet and makes crisps by baking parmasean shavings on a non-stick baking sheet. Bake until the cheese melts and bubbles. Take out of the oven and allow to cool until crispy. Very yummy and works with other hard cheese like ...
