Re: Leidseplein- lost coffee shop

Could have been Super Skunk? Was there in January and it had a big back room with a Rokerij-style decor.

On Prinsengracht next to Easy Times.

Re: What do you do when you are really stoned in Amsterdam?

I go on long walks too.

I'm normally on my own and don't like sitting about idle when so stride forth and try to take it all in.

Chancing on coffeeshops during a long walk is a massive thrill: that colourful haven in an otherwise normal street.

Looking forward to my next visit already!

Thx NSFE, some excellent news... So then, Washington and Colorado in the West, and maybe next year ME/RI/VT?/MA? in the east.... Seems the rest of the country is about to get smoked out FROM BOTH SIDES.  Plant the seed, rock the need... ... Only the word 'maybe' in this post ...

Re: It's Looking Good For Us Now... The Tide Is Turning!!!

matt 1376 i hear you x5. Like yourself, a solo traveller, well behaved and (in my case) soberly dressed. Gangs of kids and stag dos aren't great for the image I suppose, but in the end, they have the same right as us to enter the shops. Pain in the arse. Used to particularly enjoy the coffeeshops in...

Re: When will the UK govt start to listen?

Yeah, cheers Uncle Ron! Easy? I'm not with you on this one. Decrim isn't an issue which stirs enough people to go and vote. So relying on a sudden upsurge in votes for pro-decriminalisation parties is no good. Particularly as only the Greens remotely fit the bill and, sadly, no one takes them seriou...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)

Good post Treetop, nicely back on topic. So yeah, the VVD and PvDA are negotiating with a view to forming a coalition, possibly with a third party. In these negotiations will fall the question of the regulation of coffeeshops. The VVD supported the wietpas, the PvDA didn't. As some have previously s...

Re: Best method for light weight

As a lightweight myself nowadays, a beer or two to take the initial edge off the rush has often helped me. That said I don't think this would work with strong stuff. You could buy a few tinnies and enjoy them in Vondelpark with a couple of light spliffs, then take it from there. By the second day th...
While I really appreciate the SP's CS policy, the last thing Europe needs is more socialism.
In the spirit of democratic debate, I didn't think this should go unchallenged. So I'm challenging it on two counts: first, not sure western Europe has actually seen much socialism these last...

Re: Ice 0 Lator

I'd say you can expect to be ruined off Iceolator and for a pretty long time too. Only smoked it once, back in Roosendaal when the coffeeshops were still open. I was whacked off about a 0.2 gram joint for several hours. Was a daily smoker back then, too. It was a little too much for me tbh, but no w...

Re: New Zealand weed vending machine

This was what they did in the Dutch Experience in Stockport for a while, if memory serves. Back in 2001, 2002.

The idea was the same; so as no one person could be done for ownership of the place and the goods.

Re: So the Weed pass thing? and your thoughts?

When I first visited Holland back in the mid-1980s you could buy 30g of cannabis and drink alcohol in coffeeshops. Now you can only buy 5g and you can't drink alcohol in coffeeshops. When these changes came about were they imposed at a national level? Or did municipal authorities have the right to ...

Re: So the Weed pass thing? and your thoughts?

Another aspect to all of this is immigration... let your imagination go wild. A possibility is that it will decrease dramatically. Do you mean that many coffeeshops are run by or staffed by people of North African origin? I have often wondered whether this is an unmentioned factor in the current pu...
