Re: Another may visit

I will be doing the solo thing in May for 2 weeks (12th until 26th). I'm staying near the Westerkerk, if you and the Mrs. would like to meetup at a coffeeshop for a smoke and a chat name the time and place.

My suggestion is Japanese Pancake World. It is located in the Jordaan at: Tweede Egelantiersdwarsstraat 24A. You will most likely have to make a reservation here but well worth it.

I would suggest Tibetaanse restaurant Tibet at Lange Niezel 24. It is just around the corner from the Old church in the RLD.

One off the beaten path places that I found was the Palace Het Loo in Apeldoorn. The gardens behind the palace are some of the best I have ever seen.

I have to go with my home town team, Tampa Bay Lightning. New ownership has already impressed me, Steveie Y. as GM, St Louis contract extention, trade to get Simon Gange for next to nothing, ect. I think that this has been their best off season ever, and I think the results will not take long to sho...

I have 2 places I love for breakfast in Amsterdam. First I would say try Sara's Pancakes at Raadhuisstraat 45. My favorite is their apple bacon pancake. I think she opens at 8. I also learned my favorite dutch word here, "poffertjes". My other breakfast spot would be a little cafe right ne...

Cool are there any restrictions bringing food back to the US? I'm also hoping to bring back a bottle of Jenever. Yes there are restrictions on bringing back food and alcohol. Alcohol I think the restrictions are on quantity, a bottle should be no problem. As for food that is where it gets tricky so...

My suggestion is first drop off luggage at hotel. Then on your way to one of the early opening coffeeshops grab a quick bite to eat, it will help prevent the proverbial Whitie.

Get cheese at the market stalls
I agree, Albert Cuypmarkt. You can get one of the waxed cheese wheels or get just a few slices. A friend of mine picked up a 50 gram chunk of cheese to eat on the way to Katsu.

Like balou1999, I have never seen any hot wings in Amsterdam. If it is a bum burning that you want I would try Indian food. My personal favorite is Balraj at Haarlemmerdijk 28.
