I first lucked into this place back in 1990 and they ought to give me a free week there for all of the business I have sent their way over the years. Definitely a good location, although back in the day it was a good bit more peaceful.

This place will never be confused with a luxury hotel, but the location and price make it well worth considering.

I was just there yesterday myself...not so nice in the cold fog, but always a good time. I reckon it is about the perfect size, small enough to be easy to get around but big enough to have a lot to offer. Nijmegen is definitely more scenic though...check it out if you haven't already.

Last time I was there I also had limited time and limited budget. I got the nice budtender at Pink Floyd to roll me a single joint of Mother'S Finest for a very reasonable price and I wasn't disappointed at all!

Re: Got back from 2 weeks in Amsterdam friday night.

I know everyone likes to talk about how impossible it is for Americans to go there, but I'm determined. Fuck what they say...I'm gonna do it. Kyle You might consider doing what I did and relocating to the Rhein-Ruhr area of Germany...2 hours to Arnhem or Venlo, 3:15 to A'dam. It is not easy for Ame...

I've done it before and will probably do it again...it is only a 3 hour train ride away for me. I can't think of a BETTER city to do on your own.

Best shops for small samples?

I will be in Amsterdam for only two days in June. I live in nearby Germany and a friend of mine is coming over for the World Cup. Ordinarily, I wouldn't think twice about buying what I want and bringing a little bit back home with me to Germany. However, I have read that Germany will be re-instituti...

I think you have to be prepared for just about anything in this part of the world in June. Last year June was hot and July was cold!
