For me it'd be Green Place and Amnesia. The benches at Amnesia are awesome and overlook the canal. Green Place right by the Neiuwmarkt and the canal straight ahead. Truly feels like Amsterdam smoking a spliff sitting by a canal...

For crude entertainment you could check out the VERY touristy Sex Museum on Damrak... a 30 minute or so laugh really, €3 or €4 I think. Maybe a sex show if you're felling brave... dunno what floats your boat tbh. Could try out a red light tour, but I imagine these are hugely touristy as well. The ob...

I must say to everyone, good answers so far. The only thing I have to add is be careful not only of the strain or strength of weed smoked, but, of course, the amount. The easy thing with cannabis is how easy it is to regulate the dose. I'd say, 3 or 4 tokes each then wait a few minutes to see how it...

Very very awesome report. In my opinion as well your writing style and ability surpasses that of any journalist writing for any well known weed based publication... good luck getting some stuff in there, they'd be mad to say no!

Misery Business (cover) - Sea of Treachery

A metal band covering a pop-rock hit. Lead female vocals switched for a guttural male voice. Fun times.

And this compassionate family visiting, would you pay for their air-fares and accommodation, or would you compassionately accept that none of them can afford to come with a shrug of your shoulders? The second, if it wasn't already clear, I can be pretty cold hearted at times. By the way, I'm not ta...

The Green Place should be quite easy to find if you know where Basjoe is. If you turn left out of Basjoe and follow the canal, cross one road (Oude Hoogstraat) then it will be on your left, just before the Nieuwmarkt. Worth a visit, watching life pass by in the Nieuwmarkt is most pleasant.

We very much enjoyed the Amnesia Haze and Silver Haze last weekend. Silver haze the better of the two though.

Summary I love Amsterdam. In all seriousness though, if I didn’t have to learn another language I would consider moving there in a heartbeat (I’m awful with languages, trust me, technically I’m multilingual if you go by GCSE results…) and I make this judgement having only visited twice. This summar...

Day 4, 24th August 2009 So, our last day in Amsterdam was upon us. We had a flight to catch at about 6 in the evening so we wanted to get as much into the few hours we had left as possible… this plan hit a big stumbling block when we realised that we all had to do an online check in for our flight ...

If he was found guilty by a court of law then he should serve the sentence he was given. If that involves dying in prison then so be it. I would do the same for any murderer, no compassionate release, just compassionate visit by family. Maybe I'm just a cold hearted bastard though :P
