Re: So the Weed pass thing? and your thoughts?
There is still 1 thing I dont get and thats with all the talk and reports etc has there been any GENUINE confirmation on the tourists still being able to buy and smoke in coffeeshops or is everything else suggesting it is more a case of an interpretation of whats being suggested and said on a polit...

Re: So the Weed pass thing? and your thoughts?
Holland plunges back into recession. Though coffeeshops are only a small part of economy, it would look bad to turn any tourists away when Dutch consumer spending is also down.

Re: Meta-Poll: List of most likable Locations
Nice table. But don't forget that this forum is just one small corner of the world (dare I say, a "clique") where people have their favourites and is not representative of aggregate opinion at all. For example, there used to be a love affair on here with Basjoe like I've never heard of any...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)
i am going to reiterate my last idea for the hell of it. hoping a coffeeshop owner runs with it. all of you kind of panned or ignored it. fair enough you don't share the vision. hoping someone who does sees it.i sure as hell don't have the time but a coffeeshop owner should. First step.... write bi...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)
I doubt the election will help. Politicians love to break promises and I expect Labour to do the same. Ultimately, it will come down to how much the mayor/council/police feel. I can't help but feel that things will carry on much the same. I mean, the city would implode overnight if coffeeshops close...

Was never trying to upset anyone......... Exactly. But someone on this forum had to get on their high horse and shout you down just to boost their own ego. I hate this competitive male macho bullshit you see all the time on forums and anytime in a group of men. Woman and smart men just roll their e...

Re: So the Weed pass thing? and your thoughts?
http://www.weedandhash.com/wietpas-not-working/ Illegal street trade has increased tremendously. Drug runners come out even before the Wietpas is introduced to ensure smooth transition to illegal dealing. Drug runners come on day trips from northern France, mostly Albanian, Hungarian and Romanian ga...

Re: So the Weed pass thing? and your thoughts?
Also interested to know if you are a resident for a few weeks, working in Holland, whether you could get a temporary Weitpass? AFAIK they propose to introduce it on the basis of nationality rather than residence. Of course, the entire proposal is badly thought out anyway, not just this small part. ...

Re: Budtender jobs in Amsterdam
Lot of misinformation in this thread and a few good tidbits of info. As someone said, attitude is a must. You deal with so many idiots in coffeeshops its ridiculous but that's what the cannabis trade attracts, especially the closer to the centre you are which is where you'll have to stick with becau...

Re: Rokerij
Yep, and without alcohol the place would hardly make anything. I remember the Sensi Seeds coffeeshop stopped selling weed (I think they had a license a long time ago) and it was one of my favourite places to hang out but eventually they just converted it into a seed shop. Probably makes more money t...

Re: Rokerij
These sounds like some pretty massive charges. I highly doubt any of those branches will reopen. Very sad if this is the case. A better than average store I've never heard anyone say a bad word about. What I'm not sure about though is why the judgement doesn't mention the Rokerij on the Amstel. Is t...
