Re: Compulsory purchase in Amsterdam coffeeshops
Siberie is part of a group of coffee shops whose tag is, smoke less, enjoy more, so they won,t be pressurising you for not smoking theirs. Yo-yo have me on a yo-yo, I keep going back. They,re jointly run by two older but separate individuals and their goods can be bought as 5euros worth so you can e...

HET BALLONNETJE AND THE PASSAGE OF TIME.
They used to be considered the sister shop to Rusland. From my most recent impressions of Rusland, you,d imagine that this can no longer be the case since the latter has moved from free and easy to restricted behaviour. A few years back, I witnessed a business couple give a politely considered warni...

Re: Solo tourist requesting help choosing a coffeeshop
If you,ve never ever smoked before then best try something not too strong and mixed with tobacco.I understand that Sativa should be less heavy. Yoyo is the end of a street which borders Sarphati Park so you could roll up inside for an outdoor smoke. The staff tend to not exert any pressure whatsoeve...

stoned experience
Back in the 90s, in the middle of a Dutch cycle tour, was staying in the hostel at Valkenswaard. The next day after checking in, I decided to cycle to Eindhoven to board a train for Maastricht. It was fabulous to pedal towards the station only a few kilometres to the north on a lightweight Dawes tou...

YOYO in the Pijp area- with it,s high ceilings, light and airy smoking area, low key light radio musical accompaniment, mature staff and clean outdoor grown grass which is not going to take your head off and the smoking area tends to be flooded with natural light. Any writer would enjoy the relaxed ...

BALOU
Balou is a pleasant little place, a room on the ground and directly above by way of a vertical staircase, a large non-descript room handy for small gatherings, though when I was there it was a series of individuals. The shop due to it,s location on a narrow street is a wee bit dingy, not much attemp...

birdy
Finally made it to Birdy. Had failed in the past because of the location that little way beyond the town centre, the wrong side of the tracks. Having located Schoterweg, there it was and it,s obviously a part of that neighbourhood of Haarlem. Large rectangular room with space for a large pool table....

420 coffeeshop
Visited last week. It should be no big deal to visit a coffeeshop but for me it was a big step because of unpleasantness in the past with the previous occupants. The difference is night and day. The male and female couple on duty were exceptionally friendly to all. I was surprised that the shop clos...

Het Ballonnetje
Tried to visit on Wednesday 20 th. April. The man in the booth said members only. It was difficult to understand as I was looking so much forward to going in. You,re already stoned so it,s difficult to advance the situation with much discussion so I just left, but I couldn,t get my head around this ...

tweedy
Sad news.Visited Tweedy last Saturday. Very much closed and by the looks of it, either permanently or for a long time. Looks like a building refurbishment. No notification from the coffeeshop itself as to the situation.

Here in march 2015 and like the lady says, it,s all changed. So many good memories over the years of some of the work-force and some constant local customers, even witnessed a staff sacking one time. The older couple to administer it were two of the most stoned, I,ve come across in Amsterdam, the owne...

Re: coffee shops that force you to buy weed
Same approach from the new Rutland in early March. Is there somewhere to complain to. Rules should work both ways for everyones benefit, the Bond?? Its great to see oldies stopping in for a pleasant tea or coffee, resting the tired feet, and it also improves the general ambience, making it more norm...

Re: Outdoor Weed
Aalstublift to everyone for the helpful suggestions. Fortunately, Siberie and Yoyo are two of my favourite shops, along with Rusland, unfortunately much diminished, Tweedy being beside Vondel Park and Ruslands cousin t,Ballonetje. Thank-you.

Outdoor Weed
Can you suggest good outdoor weed to buy and smoke in Amsterdam early March. At 65 I rarely smoke anything. My first hash experience was in 1969, so since then,I ve passed thru a lot in the field,so to speak. There is a slight intention to smoke only outdoors grass, but then again, once in Rome........

Re: The RIP tribute list
Is it possible for a shop to reopen elsewhere, as previously well known businesses have expanded and taken over other premises? Personally, Id love for Homegrown Fantasy to reopen, Regrown Reality? Maybe the desire is not there, a stange phenomenon in the past was cannabis-free Sensi shop in Nieuwe ...
