Re: A decade away...but made it back!

Day Two There’s nothing quite like waking up in the ‘dam. It was an overcast and drizzly day with some occasional shots of the sun slicing through the clouds. But no matter the weather, this was gonna be a good one. Coffee, yogurt, eggs, and chocolate croissants for all, and we were on our way. In t...

Re: A decade away...but made it back!

Day 1, part 2 I left the hotel with no plans other than to start walking to the city center. Before prior trips I'd scoured menus, maps, and reviews months ahead of time. On this trip, it was a complete start from scratch go where the wind blows kinda vibe. While I lurked occasionally on the forum i...

A decade away...but made it back!

Before I dive into this trip report, first a little Amsterdam back story… I made my first trip to this lovely city in the summer of 2002. It was the last stop on a month long trip for school, and the final four days were in Amsterdam. I think our first CS may have been Bulldog. My next trip came 8 y...

Re: Embrace The Strange

Thanks Willjay and Alpen Rock! No worries USBL, I should have made a better effort to reach out beforehand or plan something..I'm sure we'll cross paths again soon. Had some great times with you and Luvtick about 3 years ago at the Basjoe TnT's. Slip, great to hear from you! How the hell you been? Y...

Re: Embrace The Strange

Day 2 The feeling of waking up in Amsterdam is an incredible one. Even though I was getting out of bed later than I had arrived the day before, there was that feeling of the first “full” day. We were staying at a hotel and had the option of getting breakfast there, but I wanted to get out right away...

Re: Embrace The Strange

The flight went by pretty quickly and wasn’t bad at all. I think we were just right under 8 hours getting there. I’ve never been much of a plane sleeper, so I didn’t even really try. I watched some cheesy cop movie with Damon Wayans’ son in it, listened to tunes, and played some games on my phone. T...

Embrace The Strange

One foot in front of the other, the pace picking up with every single step I took. After rupturing an Achilles a year earlier, this was by far the fastest I’d run since then. Memories of high school and college Track & Field races of yore seeped in, as I zigged and zagged through the masses of p...

Visiting Nov 20th - 25th

It's been a long time since I've posted on here, and nearly three years since my last trip. This one came together really suddenly, and I'm happy about that part...less wait time! Now it's time to scour the boards some more and get caught up on all things AMS so I'm well prepared. My wife and I will...
