Re: Utopia

On a cool and damp Tuesday afternoon, myself and the missus needed to kill a couple of hours before heading to Schiphol for the flight home. Nel was at the counter, so I introduced myself and asked for something a little lighter than the Motivation, Silver Bubble and Fire Ice I'd bought the previous...

Re: Utopia

Motivation was on the menu yesterday, but sadly no Grapefruit Krush, Strawberry Cough or Pot of Gold. The Iceolator is available in two micron sizes - 30 euro for the 72 micron and 20 euro for the 120 (?? forget the actual size). I treated myself to a gram of the 72 micron (not sure if it's worth an...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Something doesn't sound right... :? 1. The plant may look beyond repair, but it's fine if you take proper steps. I could go on about it's properties, but I think you should read more about the plant itself. 2. Cannabis, any plant for that matter, will be in some form of shock when it's manip...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Trash it start new? All too prophetic, redeyezman. Disaster struck the night after my previous post. There was a brief storm overnight and the plant snapped just where the stretching had begun. The top 40 cm was bent 180° downwards, without breaking the stem, but enough to cut off circulation. It l...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Thanks, treetop. I thought about topping it, but couldn't bring myself to cut it, so tying down seemed to be the best way forward. Growing it vertically is not realistic now (and it still appears to be still vegging).

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Had to go abroad for a couple of weeks, so put the plant outside at the mercy of the elements and hoped for the best. It grew 0.4m (15 inches) while I was away and now stands at 1.2 metres. Looks like it stretched quite a bit as the new-growth internode spaces are now 8 cm (as opposed to 6 cm previo...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

So, what's the plan, leave it out to flower? Yep. Any thoughts on insect/pest control and damage prevention? Should be OK on the balcony. The main pests in the garden are caterpillars and leaf borers. I've had some romaine lettuces growing for the past few months with no pest activity apart from le...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

The nodal spacing is in the 5 - 6 cm range, but it's top heavy for sure. A trellis might be the answer. Thanks, Ron.

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Day 60 'Clarice' is now a balcony grow, back on 12/12. The breeze can be strong on the balcony, and the plant was being blown almost horizontal, so I drilled thee holes just below the rim of the pot, wrapped the plant stem in coco to protect it and used twist ties to hold it steady. I tried a 'teep...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

It won't happen while using a 24/0 light cycle, don't know why you keep thinking it will. It's the hopeless optimist in me. 'Clarice' will have to go outside in a couple of weeks as I will be away for a while. Is there any benefit in gradually reducing the light period before putting her ...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Day 50

Growth started to slow, so I repotted Clarice in a 15L pot. Same potting mix as before with added coco coir. No obvious stress after repotting, Clarice is now 55cm tall and very healthy looking. Still no definitive indication of gender.

Useful link, Hazy Neville, thanks. I read the Icmag site quite a lot, but didn't see that article.

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Thanks for the comments, guys.

Day 43

Still on 24/0, 'Clarice' is now 45cm tall (15cm growth in a week!). Still no sign of gender, but looking very healthy. 8)
