Re: Best susi and japan restorans in Dam.

How about the teppan yaki in Kobe House? It's on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 77 and I've heard some good reviews about it. I think it might be a little expensive, I mean their yaki is like 75 euro for 2 people, but the sushi is I think less expensive and the atmosphere is nice. And they have sashimi, yu...

Re: Good hotel near great coffee shops? Newbie help please.

I've heard good things about the Voyager, most people who stay there are usually pretty satisfied. And that is near everything, isn't it, being this close to Central Station? The town's pretty easy to move around in and get directions, more straightforward than most other big cities, so you won't ha...

Re: what film(s) are u watching

It's almost unbelievable the amount of crappy Hollywood crap that is out there and has been in my way this past week. Ranging from Super 8 (quite boring) through Monte Carlo (well, I'm not 13 anymore) and ending with the worst thing ever - Bad Teacher (don't even know why I bothered). Thankfully, at...

Re: Another Hello from Russia, this time very hot one!

Oh, I wish we had a very hot summer. I'm in Berlin for a few days and it was miserable, though today there is lots of sunshine and the weather is just generally better. Hope it has improved by the time I get back.

Re: Does any one else not have a tv?

Hahah, don't worry, you're not the only weirdo out there. I don't own a tv, don't watch any and haven't own one in God knows how long. The only time I think about TV is when my internet is down, lol :D We have one in England, but we haven't paid our tv license, to it just stays off right there in th...

Re: Red Hot Chili Peppers

I saw them a while ago when I was on holiday in Rome, can't really remember, but I think they were pretty decent. I'm not a huge fan myself, particularly not drawn to their new stuff, but I guess they also play a few classics on there, don't they? Can you give a link as to the pricing and concert da...

Re: August 3rd - 6th

Oh, passport troubles. My friend lost her passport and applied for a new one like 2-3 weeks before our journey to Italy and it hadn't arrived until the last day before the journey! She was going insane, cause she thought she'd miss the trip because of that silly thing, and when we got to the holiday...

Re: RIP Amy Winehouse

I wonder why the topic of famous people dying turns into a more than unpleasant chat more often than not. Are we so insignificant in our own lives that we have to get validated through popular culture icons and defend them or attack them so vigorously? I mean yeah, there are people who think Amy was...

Re: Wok To Walk

Omg, I love Wok to Walk. I am generally a fan of that cuisine, anyway, you can rarely take me to any other restaurant than Asian and fill me up with so much satisfaction  I had one in London a few weeks back - egg noodles and chicken with some teryaki sauce, mmm. Really hungry right now, so...

Re: Whats everyone reading?

Almost done reading Labyrinth by Kate Mosse. Quite interesting book, once I start it, it's hard to put down, but it's my travel read so I am savouring it for a journey back to my place in Barcelona:) Didn't take any other books with me, will have to browse through the local library while I'm here.

A bit of pre-apocalyptic talk there, angry pirate, though I personally think the Mayans just got tired of counting. :)

Re: something cheap for new year!!!!

I don't think Cheap and New Year mix in anything, do they, not just when talking about accommodation in Amsterdam? Maybe if you book early, the prices won't go up? Best chance is to speak to someone who owns the place and see what they have, but I doubt there'll be very affordable offers - it's the...

Re: would a LOOKING FOR OLD FRIEND thread be ok do you think

It's so frustrating looking for old friends, isn't it? You can never seem to find them, they've got married and changed their names or God knows what. On the other hand, people you don't want to be looking for keep popping up in front of your eyes. StonedSince'67 gives good advice - if you think the...

Re: NORWAY ATTACKS

Can keep the conspiracy theories until the dead are buried? Marco, I do apologise, it wasn't the most sensitive thing to discuss after such a short period of time. My thoughts are with the victim's relatives and friends (I recently lost a friend myself, so I am nowhere near insensitive on the subje...
