Early Breakfast on Rembrandtplein

BRUINCAFE 'T CENTRUM 4 Rembrantplein An early opening (8 am) restaurant right on the Rembrandtplein. Her name was Chelsea and at 8am on a foggy Sunday morning her service, attitude and charm were certainly appreciated by these newly arrived Americans in Amsterdam. We had the full breakfast, a ham om...

Re: Smokey on Rembrandtplein

Smokey's 20 Nov 2011 We were walking through the Rembrantplein on the way to find a meal when the urge for a before-dinner smoke hit and we stopped by Smokey's for a quick purchase. I regret we didn't try any of the smoothies as those are highly recommended by some folks. Anyway, the prices weren't ...

Re: Rokerij

ROKERIJ III 21 Nov 2011 The menu and budtender were downstairs from the street level entrance - which we were "gently" informed by the bartender upon entry. The vibe was a bit unconducive to having a leisurely smoke & refreshment so this visit was just purchasing gear. The bud tender a...

Re: Balou

19 November 2011 The budtender was doing double duty as the coffee barista leading to an interesting mix of orders and customers to sort through which she accomplished beautifully. The bags at Balou are fixed price (sm, med, lg) in varying weights depending on market price of strain purchased. A med...

Re: Cannabis Cup Raided By Police

I was at the Borchland Expo when the raid occurred. My first hand account: Police came up the center aisle in two columns, split and went down the side aisles two per booth until all booths had two police (at least). Supervisors had maps of the hall and certain booths marked with red circles, probab...

Coffeeshop Johnny

COFFEESHOP JOHNNY @ JOHNNY JORDAANPLEIN The boys at Johnnys were the friendliset jokesters we've run across on this trip to the Dam. Juan and James were originally from Aruba and run the small non-smoking establishment. They have a small stand-up smoking room for onsite consumption. The Bella Donna ...

Re: What do the experts think of this vaporizer?

I'm on my third "recondition" of the Volcano and after 3 years of hard (6 hour/day) use it's still functioning great. Plus I like the IOLITE portable because it's got a decent sized "bowl" and great portability (except for having to carry butane). The Iolite was a replacement for...

Re: Coffeeshops and Vapes?

@Balou - awesome info... sounds like vapes are widely available - guess we'll see how crowded things are during CC24, but there's no need to bring/buy a portable. cool.

thanks for not pointing out I should've used the search function

Coffeeshops and Vapes?

In all previous visits to the Dam (last in '06) I never paid attention to vaporizer usage in the coffeeshops. Due to my current medical conditions I'm strictly vape now and was wondering what kind of availability I might expect? Or whether it would be better to bring or buy a portable vape? In the p...

Re: What is the tolerance for being high in public AMS?

My modest experience in the Netherlands: the further out you go from the Dam, the more likely you might run into some disdain - nothing too overt, mostly "looks" brought on by the aroma of our prior indulgences. First trip (1998) we stayed in Haarlem in a B&B (no smoking of course at t...
