Re: Heavy use of cannabis can cause psychosis
I agree it's to do with personal lifestyle and I take the opinion that with the legal high that is alcohol many can cope but there are others that totally trash their lives because of it (everyone here with no doubt nod in agreement) . I'm not advocating stop everyone participating because of the fe...

Re: Heavy use of cannabis can cause psychosis
I personally know 2 people that it has pychotic effects on. One the guy was 19 and lone toking a gram a day introduced a `chemical imbalance´ which made him paranoid to the state that he would open conversations with people in the pub about what they may have said to him 2 weeks previous (obviously ...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)
Well the VVD in Rotterdam are quite against the introduction of the wietpass± 14 September 2012-14:44 Rotterdam fears coming wietpas The Rotterdam VVD is deeply concerned about the introduction of the wietpas in the city. The Rotterdam VVD is deeply concerned about the introduction of the wietpas in...

Re: Coffeeshops that have closed down
Well changing the title to " that will close down " then lots are pencilled in for 1st JaN 2014 including 1/2 of Utrechts establishments in the centre of the city. The 350m law comes into effect. I'm not sure whether they will be allowed to relocate to the edges .. depends on the politics ...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)
If they have to bring in a 3rd party to "bridge" for their obvious differences and it is D66 then that is a plus for getting rid of the weed pass ... but if the CDA are then brought in the pendulum could swing the other way. Just face it .. todays generation are more conservative than thei...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)
Well it is not simply a 2 horse race so there is no immediate result on the 13th sept but a lot of horse-trading after the event to form a coalition of 3+ parties looking at the way things are predicted. If the PvdA and SP can bury differences then all well and good but the VVD would really like a c...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)
The strong performances by PvdA in the TV debates mean that some SP voters are leaking towards the PvdA. Thus a 'purple' coalition idea is being floated of VVD-PvdA-D66. Such a Coaltion existed in the good old days of 1994-2002. Both PvdA and D66 are against the wietpas, wanting to fully update the ...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)
The senate is literally a 50/50 split along right/left lines in its current form. That's why the VVD had to do the deal with the fundy christians to gain a slim majority. In that the wietpas has been ear-marked to come into effect Jan 1st the senate have already rubber stamped it.

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012
the VVD had their chance over the last 18 months of improving the economy with their conservative approach but instead chose to become appeasers of fascists and were more worried about burkas than anything else. How is throwing another 5000 people on welfare going to sort the problem out. Anyone wit...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012
That SP prediction is on the low side. The other polls suggest SP and VVD on 34-35 seats each with the most probable coalition being SP-PvdA and another left party. The parties that want to sink the wietpas are SP, PvdA, Greenleft, D66 and Animal party. As would be expected the 3 christian parties w...

Re: Dutch election topic
back on topic the Socialists are still gaining slowly. read in the news that an SP/PvdA coalition is the most plausible with a few smaller parties to join to get over the 50% needed to govern.

Re: Utrecht Coffeeshops
Ever since Sarasani was shut down I have been trying most of the coffeeshops on the out-skirts as many in the centre seem to either be unfriendly or sell average weed. The boat and t'grasje are probably the best that remain. Most of the coffeeshops in the centre will not survive the 350m law coming ...

Most of them closed their doors a few months back as a protest. Look around the web for the story (there are threads on here as well).

Re: So the Weed pass thing? and your thoughts?
This maybe the beginning of the fizzle out as it seems discriminatory by region now. For instance, Utrecht council specifically states that the wietpas is being forced on them by national policy and now we read that there is an opt out for Amsterdam ? Why should places like Utrecht comply then? The ...
