A bit late to this... I've stayed at the NH Grand Krasnapolsky. The breakfast buffet there is nice and there is a nice bar too. 3 pin power plugs too. I just got back from a long weekend in Amsterdam. I actually enjoy it more at this time of year. All the main streets are lit up with xmas lights. I'm also into a bit of photography and at this time of year you get a nice fog which hangs around till early afternoon.
