Katsu is in the Old South some distance from the centre. The easiest way to get there is to catch a tram. There are instructions on the page and a link to a map of the area:

I think some of this apparent rudeness of the Dutch is only perceived by Americans and is related to cultural differences. The way that, for instance, food is ordered in a US diner would sound like a demand rather than a request in the Netherlands (or UK for that matter) and comes across as very rud...

A few places come to mind: Dutch Flowers has a particularly pretty view. The seats at the very back of Hill Street Blues and Coffeeshop 36 have a good view over the Damrak. The big windows at Sensi coffeeshop are great for people watching. Same at Baba. Upstairs at Rick's is also good. It's a shame ...

Yep, there certainly is a difference. Sativas tend to get you high rather than stoned. In other words not so "monged out".

There are lots of hotels in Amsterdam, mostly in the centre and the south. The ones in the centre are convenient but over-priced especially at the weekends. The easiest way to find out what's available and to get the best rates is to use an agency. I always use the Bookings agency linked on the site...
