California Legalization Ballot Measures

California has some marijuana legalization ballot measure petitions that are gathering signatures starting this last week. Petition circulators can earn $0.70 for each valid signature they gather. There's three (plus one not yet certified) petitions circulating right now. It takes some 433,000 signa...

I had a job guarding tour buses at Mountain Winery- a concert venue near San Francisco. I chose the tour buses since no one else wanted that post and because it's the most chilled job. Real quiet people and supervisers wise during the show but good acoustics. Uncharacteristicly I got a radio call at...

I think the closest great shop is Rokerij IV. See the map at www.coffeeshopdirect.com. IV is at A6 on the map. If you click on it's name you go to a reviews page as well as a link to the shop's website. You're in the Oud (Old) West part of town, a not very touristic area. If you go South on Kinkerst...

Just got an eighth of Super Silver Haze at a San Francisco medical marijuana club for $45. Hashes were running $20 to $30/gram including the processed bubble or water hashes. Many of the same strains as Amsterdam are available as well as many eatable varieties.

I always try to do the straight stuff the first couple of days although more than once I've had to cram them in the last day before flying out.

After eight trips I only consider the Van Gogh and Anne Frank house as required although the Stedelijk and Rijksmuseum are worth multi visits.

Recently in California growers/transporters have favored bags that are used for cooking turkeys. My personal favorites are the bags that were left at my apartment building during the tenting and fumigation for termites (poison gas). They're made with a different formulation than typical zip lock bag...

Endo: Yeh you take the same tram line back. Check out http://www.terena.org/webcam/ ...this is a webcam at Koningsplein. The trams passing are probably the 1, 2, and 5 lines. http://www.gvb.nl/english/travellers/tijdensdereis.html ...is the travelers page at the city transportation company. The befo...

Check out Los Pilones, however if you've not had Mexican food as served in Mexico you might be dissapointed. It's definately not Tex-Mex style but more El Day Efay (DF), Federal District, or Mexico City style. There's other good Mexican food in Amsterdam but I believe Los Pilones is the only authent...

I think what you're seeing is locals who have passes in their pockets boarding conductorless trams. Everytime I've seen the fare police board and check tickets very few riders are found ticketless.

I've been to Amsterdam 4 times in mid to late March. It never rained much (shortlived showers mostly) although 1 year it was almost balmy- 10C or 50F degrees. Pretty much March is one of the windiest months. Even the harshest year I noticed a big difference between say the 15th and the 30th. Early i...

One thing about the 7 day pass and strippen- they don't work on the night buses. Only the hour passes (24, 48, and 72 hour), EUR 3 cash, and special night bus strippen (10 for EUR 25) are accepted.

I think you can do better. It's a ways out with poor transportation as the nearby trams only go to Leidseplein- you've got to transfer to a Centraal Station tram to get to the centrum. It's probably better to cut through the park toward the Tropen Museum and catch a 9 or 14 tram.

I randomly chose the Kap my first stay and have never tried any others. It's real quiet- I sleep like a baby there. It's a 2 star with a killer included breakfast bufett where a single is about EUR 45 off season and 55 high season.
