I would suggest a wander down Haarlemmerstraat, you have shops like Dampkring II, Popeyes, Barneys, Picasso, ect... All good shops in their own ways yet not quite as crowded as the ones in the Red Light District.

It almost brings a tear to my eye just to watch all those beautiful babys grow up to be such outstanding adults.
