Just a note and for all it's worth, I've just recently added top bars/pubs to my AMSTERDAM MAP (under drinking). I plan to do a bit of a bar crawl in a couple of weeks when I'm in town and get some recent updates. Guess I'll delete Gollem off the map now, to start with. Also forgot to add NES which ...

Prague (Czech Republic) is renouned for Absinthe also called the green fairy. The drink is nothing but a romantic myth, despite the active ingredient that makes authentic Absinthe which is wormwood, Absinthe is nothing but very high alcohol content liquor. I do like it and the whole procedure in dri...

Several bags of Kaneel-Stokjes and any general biscuits are a personal favourite I bring back. Dutch cheese for me such as Edam is awful tasteless rubber.

I know a mate who wires and data networks office blocks. A small team of them get contracted from the UK to work in the big cities all over Europe. The lucky git seems to be working in Amsterdam for years now, flying back to the UK every 5 weeks for a short break. They work through the entire night ...

^^^ You're absolutely right about the smoker friendly bars and not much of a selection of beers, but the saving grace is at least you can have a beer, regardless if it's a bog-standard, weak Heineken, I agree with you, but there aren't many of these places about. Years ago, Amsterdam was much better...

Bang on. This is exactly what I do. I dip in and out of coffeeshops but on the whole I prefer stumbling across bars/pubs, especially the really old ones with unusual beers I've yet to sample.

Blimey, I must be the only one here out of the huge group that's in town over the CC who's mainly going for the pubs and beer sampling. I'll have a smoke of course, but bars/pubs is more of an attraction than sitting in a coffeeshop drinking milkshake through a straw....lol

Inception - wow what a movie, I need to watch it again but overall it's amazing 9.5/10. Hey Boner, saw that film at the cinema couple days after it was released and every seat was taken. Film like that is awesome watching it on the big screen, but thought it was a bit too long. Good film with amazi...
