Re: What do you do when you are really stoned in Amsterdam?

I find myself wondering around aimlessly, but I tend to like to move on from a coffeeshop to try and find a quiet bar off the beaten track. I love a cocktail when high. Something sweet. In 2010 I found a bar that was hard to find...and hard to get back to my hotel from: I got wildly lost. But it onl...

Re: whats a decent daily amount of euro to take

My budget has always been kind of like this: Weed for the day: 40 Euro, try and get myself 2-4 grams for the day. Alcohol: Generally spending 30-40 Euro on beer at a store for personal consumption, maybe 50-80 Euro in a bar every second day. Food: 40 Euro I've been to Amsterdam twice, once on a budg...

Re: Hash milkshakes

Only ever had one, it was at blues brothers. A spontaneous stop in there while my mate was looking for sneakers around there. Was very random. Made me very high. Was yummy too. Waitress sighed a bit when I asked for it though.

Re: Advice on buying Pre Rolled joints

Pre-rolls to me are a guilty treat. You're paying for convenience. If you buy a sandwich from your deli, there's a risk it won't be to you're exact liking and anticipating, based on your own style.

That said, they are a bit of a rip considering the quality of weed you'd be getting with it.

Help me choose!

So I was hoping to get some feedback from ya'all on accommodation. I've only ever stayed at the Victoria Park Plaza and an airport hotel so when it comes to accommodation in Amsdterdam I am out of the loop. Happy to hear any and all recommendations and then I will definitely narrow it down. Things t...

Re: Shrooms

I'd say you should dedicate 12-24 hours to a trip on shrooms, truffles. Otherwise you're rushing it and you'll kill the buzz. Buy some food, choose a place where you can occupy your mind for a long period, chill out and enjoy yourself. I hate doing them out in public or on transport...although I've ...

Re: Amsterdam tourist cannabis ban rejected by mayor

It's starting to remind me of the awful political debate happening in Australia atm. Lots of jargon, little meaning. It's very hard to trust anyone. It is grubby rhetoric, personal wars, For me it's like a politics subject at Melbourne Uni all over again. Bad times. IMO I think Australia is a strong...

Re: It's Looking Good For Us Now... The Tide Is Turning!!!

One thing I noticed from having been to Amsterdam in 2007 and then returning in 2010 is that street dealers were almost non-existant in 2010. In 2007 I was hounded non-stop in the RLD, but in 2010 it was quite clear that things had been cleaned up. Now it just seems like it will fall back into the s...

Re: Wietpas is enforced countrywide. The 'be prepared' threa

I'm prepared, but over the past few months I've decided that if it does eventually come to happen, that I'd still visit Amsterdam. For one I doubt we'd see an end to truffles any time soon, and like places like Prague, Barcelona, weed will still be available and I'm sure many a cafe and coffeeshop w...

Re: Blues Brothers

I've been here twice: 2007 and 2010. Both times I found it to be very laid back, not especially inspiring but a great place to have a quicky and a milkshake  The customer service was pretty lacking but the guy answered my questions in a nice tone 8) Didn't go out of his way to recommend stuff, ...

Found katsu one evening when walking back to the hotel with my wife from yo yo Mixed reviews about this place and we now know why, the most hostile atmosphere we experienced on the whole trip a couple of weeks ago and the only bad vibe we experienced in any shop. Felt very unwelcome. Bought some av...

Re: Worth braving the weather in late Nov/Dec?

I've been to Amsterdam/Europe three times: twice in the middle of summer, and once in February. I'm from Melbourne, Australia, and which is probably the coldest city in Australia, but nothing prepared me for London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague in February. I had two Superdry jackets with me but if you...

Re: It's Looking Good For Us Now... The Tide Is Turning!!!

I'm going to remain skeptical. Forbes is of course pro-business, so I am not surprised that this piece is rather optimistic for the industry going forward. I spoke with someone (not sure who) from the Bulldog FB page that said that it was very unlikely that shops in Amsterdam would need to use the w...
