I had the same problem, also going to the Dam then with 2 mates (one male, one female) had loads of probs trying to get a single room for my male friend and that was 8 weeks ago. There appears to be sweet FA available. Decent hostels also pretty much booked up - so yeah, good luck in the search...

Balou, I share your stress getting connecting flights, just last month I had to run through LGW barefoot, flip-flops in hand to get my flight with 5 mins to spare because of bloody security
