Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Day 36

The plant is now 29cm tall, almost a foot. 'She' has been under 24 hour CFL light for ten days now. Looks healthy.

I hope you're right, treetop. It's a slow grow. I just have to be patient. 8)

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Read this. http://boards.cannabis.com/plant-problems/164479-strange-white-spots.html Leaf Miners or borers leave squigglely lines. I work as a horticulturalist every day, so while I might not know everything about the cannabis plant, I'm fairly good with disease and pest identification. If you are ...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Has your plans changed from outdoor to indoor grow? Just playing it by ear. If it's safe to put the plant outdoors for flowering, I'll go that way. Meantime, the 24/0 vegging continues. I added a 26W CFL (warm light) to the setup. Can anyone tell me what I'm seeing here? http://i49.tinypic.com/986g...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Day 28 Plant seems to be thriving under 24 hour CFL light. No sign of pests (lower leaves had leaf borers showing, so I snipped them. Maybe that was the white spots on the leaves). New growth is now showing at the nodes. Shouldn't be too long before 'she' shows her gender. http://i50.tinypic.com/2dq...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

I think mites, specifically spider mite or two spotted mite. Hi Slip & Sal...I pulled one of the affected leaved and had a look under a 60x microscope. No sign of any pests. Given the recent heat, I reckon the young leaves have burned a little. Doesn't changing environments shock them? I'll soo...

Just checked what 'Daylight 865' is: Cool daylight with a color temperature of 6500 Kelvin. Whatever that means...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Change of plan. The temps here have been in the 100°F range for the past few days and direct sunlight is brutal. More leaves have started to brown and curl at the tips (so maybe it wasn't nute burn after all). Anyway, drastic measures had to be taken so I've switched to an indoor grow for the rest o...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

This is why if I were growing outdoors/greenhouse, I would force veg the plants indoors. Within two to three weeks of flowering, I will know what sex they are. I would love to do that, Ron, but it's hard enough getting regular light bulbs where I live, let alone something in the 250 - 400W range. I...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Me thinks it could take a couple of months... what a waste of time if it's a male. Just saying... I tell ya, even if it's a male, growing it has been a great experience. The big grow will be next year, so this is just learning the ropes. Anyway, here 'she' is on day 21. The white marks have gone, b...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

I had similar marks on my plant after spilling water on the leaves. Could be something similar? You might have something there, treetop. I just read recently that the soil should be watered, not the plant. The new leaves don't have the marks, so that scenario seems to, umm, hold water. Then again, ...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Thanks again, Uncle Ron. I haven't used any nutes yet, apart from the worm castings (vermicompost) I mixed into the potting soil. I have some 10:10:10 NPK in the form of pellets. Is 10:10:10 OK at this stage or should I hold back on the K until it starts to flower (and add more N at this stage)? The...

Day 16. I'm a little concerned with the white speckling on the upper leaves. Is it anything to worry about?

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Chantra, do you plan on covering the plant at all or simply leave it out in the open and let mother nature do her thing? What I'm thinking of is a small, one plant greenhouse. Plenty of examples on the internet using simple materials (plastic foil, pvc tubing, wood, etc...). This would also be extr...

Re: Outdoor Grow - Tropical

Hi Uncle Ron. I have no idea what to expect from the Laotian strain. The weed itself is poor quality, with many twigs and seeds, an OK taste but little effect. I'm just hoping that better care will result in a better product. It's impossible to get any decent seeds where I live, so I'm using this as...
