Re: Bushdocter

Enticed by the large number of tables outside in a chilled out spot next to Rembrantplein a friend and I visited this place. Inside the shop the budtender (who looked about 12, or maybe I'm just getting old) clearly told the people in front of us they had to buy drinks and smokes to use the terrace....

Re: De Kuil (420 Cafe)

Similar to the poster above, always bypassed this place previously for no real reason, but had to arrange to meet one of our group somewhere in Amsterdam when we arrived so "the 420 @ 4:20" seemed logical :D Didn't spend long in there as we had to go sort our accom. out but I liked the vib...

Re: 1e Hulp Coffeeshop

Where is this coffeeshop? Not on the map It almost is. It would be at ref Z5 if there was a Z before the A. ;) Continue down Rozengracht off the map on the far left, cross the bridge over the first canal you come to and its just there on your left. First time I'd made it to 1e Hulp on our last trip...

Re: Dutch General Elections - Sept. 12, 2012 (updated poll)

So do I, that's a great post. I can understand people on 'normal' wages not wanting to pay more tax. I don't want to pay more tax. However, that is a very self-centred and restrictive basis upon which to decide who should be running a country. And if all you're really concerned about is your wallet...

Re: Northern Light

My mate got some from the Bushdoctor on Thorbeckeplein last weekend so he could sit outside for ages. Worked out at €9/g though you have to buy 2 there. To be honest I thought it was rubbish stuff, and I like good NL.

Re: Happy Feelings (formerly Global Chillage)

Mixed emotions about this place. On the one hand, it is many things I dislike in a CS and the complete opposite of its predecessor, Global Chillage. It is now all modern and soulless, with bad mtv on tv screens prominent, vending machines for drinks, and a totally uninspiring menu. We bought some mi...

Re: Paradox

Paradox is a very unique and special place, possibly my favourite daytime coffeeshop. Our apartment on our last visit was closeby and I was very pleased to see it hasn't changed much in the few years since I was last there. Got to spend several mornings (ish) chilling out there, partaking of their g...

Re: Voyagers

Having heard things had changed at Voyagers I was keen to make it there on our last trip and we eventually got there on the penultimate afternoon. Slightly loud budtender who was actually sound - check Superb menu full of tasty bud - check Good times - check Great/convenient location; not the most a...

Re: Utopia

Had some of that Devil's 13 on one of our visits to Utopia over last weekend. It was very distinctive. Nice, although I was more impressed with some of our other purchases from the shop. We went through a lot of Champagne Haze. Just lovely stuff, couldn't have enjoyed it more. I also developed quite...
