it was mentioned back in feb/march EU rules state that during a health crisis individual member states have full control over their borders regarding wether to close them or not

it's significant that the first two confirmed cases in the UK were on 31st January .... just to highlight how long the government put their fingers in their ears, shut their eyes and shouted la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la for the next month and a half.
