Chronicles of Coupe

Post by CoupeCulling »

Welcome to the Chronic Illz of Cu Cuchulain.

Howdi folks said I would get ready to post a travelogue for the
upcoming trip to Amsterdam.
So I've been over a couple of times now and I always check out this forum
before heading to see whats good and torture myself in the evenings.

With going in a week thought I would just give a little wrap up of
what I had in the last trip and a few experiences in general.

Last year everyone was raging about Voyagers and the Lemon, so it
was the first place we hit off the train.
It was good but the flavour was only half there.
Also picked up Sour Casey which I didn't really like
was way too much of coffee effect find if I'm too wired I don't feel stoned.

Although I was on the way to hang of a building on a swing, so you know that
probably helped.
(Got this off sour chocolope too the previous year, was great when we arrived having not slept
in a day. Five pulls in was like an adrenaline shot and we shot out off the bench.
Proceeded to walk the length and breadth of the city about five times. But properly rested
I found it hit me like a dodgey preworkout drink)

It was around the time of the Cannabis Cup so we got Chemhead I think
it was called, really nice smoke good. Was tasty, strong enough
but quite functional didn't steal my sense of direction entirely.

Dropped off our gear in the hotel inner down by the van Hogh.
Load up on smoothies from the Hejn, another smoke and were off to Grey Area
and Poochini Bombini.

Alot of people don't seem to be big fans of Grey Area.
There prices have been steadily going up since I started going.
Going from 15~ at the top to now 18 and a euro here and there on the cheaper stuff.
I've always found their stuff pretty great with the occasional mind blower.
Picked up Kosher, Scotts OG, Greyberry and Wifi.
Was most excited for the Wifi as on a previous trip I had an unbelievable batch
that had phenomenal flavours and a kick like a mule. Could smell by the batch
wasn't going to be as good but still pretty good stuff.

Kosher was nice though my first experience of the strain.
Scotts OG similiar story.
Grey Berry was nice too, but it was after a long day of smoking and it get harder to tell when your deep
in the murky waters.

Came outside to my girlfriend waiting with a big sack of bonbons from Poochini Bombini
and a really confused look on her face. The doorman type guy (very stoned guy who checks passports and looks like he hasn't slept in a month)
recognized her and ushered her over. Apparantly they kick up a stink when the stoners wonder over.
She tried to explain lifting her bag of choclates but given you could see meteor showers in the mans eyes
she went with the path of least resistance.

Later I went around the corner I had done a bit of a dig and one of the strains I wanted to try was Accapolko Gold,
We hit up Amnesia, this was the strain of the holiday.
The bud was a big fat dense nugget, covered in crystals and with an almost toffeeish smell.
Really euphoric and giggly, nice energy level and bit of a body stone.
Went back a few times over the holiday couldn't get enough of it.

Other trips around saw us top up strains and we also tried Zkittlez and Sweet Island Skunk from Grey Area.
Liked both very tasty though the high was good but lacking a bit of strength for the end of the holiday
when tolerance was well up.

One thing I'd say to people aswell that I've seen a lot over in Amsterdam is make sure your getting the right weed.
Either through intentionally being bastards or just your tender being stoned. I had 3 seperate incidents of people
trying to give me the wrong weed till I pointed it out. Also seen atleast a dozen cases of it happening to other
people in shops.

This trip I want to try more Boerenenenegajonginz and also find Ballonetje, got too high on the way to the zoo and
couldn't find it last time.

Also big shout out to Benny's Chicken which I haven't seen mentioned and is absolutely sick.
In the Kyup Market been doing chicken for 100 years and whether it's on a stick in a roll or just a whole chicken
its amazing and really under priced. We got a Chicken Roll, Chicken Skewers and a roast chicken and
don't even think it came to a tenner. We had it every day it was open for breakfast along with a smoothie and a stroop.

Be hitting Amsterdam soon, I'm buzzing like a man who ran naked through nettles.
Weathers looking like were gonna be poncho'ing it up but hey waters never killed anyone.

Anything you'd really recommend Nugs?
From reading peoples reviews, seems like you can't go wrong I'll be quite close to the WEST.

Things I have my eye on are the Mazing Haze/Super Mazing Super Silver Strawberry, Girlscout Tangerine and the Kosher Tangie.

Though I'll probably just go by what looks/smells best on the day.

Would have been cool to try Blue Magic too but that seems to have disappeared.

Will bring pictures of Bennys for the main post.
