Hi Cisco and TC, I'm glad you're excited too! I'm lagging a bit, as James' Isolator kept me buzzing so hard *ALL DAY* yesterday, even though it had been 24 hours since I smoked that it was hard to do motivate myself to do anything other than savor it. And I keep getting sucked into photo editing.

Also, this trip was so wonderful, and I find myself filled with such joy that it is actually hard to find the words to capture the experience. This was my perfect trip. Literally the only thing I would change is to pack two smaller suitcases for me and the mr rather than one large one. (And maybe I would have made it a few more places, but to be honest that was a decision I made based on what would maximize my enjoyment.) All in all this report will be the biggest yet.

Basjoe's Big Buddha Cheese, June 2010

abcd- I shoot with a Nikon D-60 and for bud, a 50 mm-100mm macro-quality VR lens. Some exterior shots are shot with my 50-150mm VR. It's actually not an expensive camera as far as DSLR's go, and is one of the best value professional quality cameras, with most of the important features at a fraction of the price. I picked it because I break nice things, and if this one got destroyed I would not be devastated. All in all I love it and give it a full endorsement.

Seriously, coming soon I swear. James' isolator is entirely to blame. I'm still glowing days later.

In the meanwhile:

puff- do you know if the two are actually different? What James is calling big buddha cheese #really# seems like a laughing buddha cheese cross.

tc- I'm glad she liked it! tell her I said hello.

June 2, Part 1

The feeling you get the morning that you wake up and remember that this is the day you leave for Amsterdam has to be one of the best feelings. A soft smile and a warm glow spread over me and I rolled over to gently wake the Mr He too woke with a grin, even though he really hates mornings. I could tell it was going to be a good day already.

After I saw him off to work, I smoked a quick bowl and finished my coffee before I jetted out the door for my flight. My heart surged with excitement, and I cranked the music way up in my ears as I locked the door behind me. Rocking out with Mos Dub put me in the perfect Amsterdam summer mood. I took a moment on the tram ride to the airport to be sad for poor DrJ, who had to work today. However, I was quickly cheered by the fact that I had been smart enough to fly up on the morning flight, so that I could have the apartment all set and the fridge stocked by the time he got in that night. (That's a whole six extra hours in the dam for the wife. Clever monkey.)

I'm sure you don't care about anything that happened in between, so I'll just skip ahead. The flight was uneventful and on time. I landed to beautiful warm sun and clear skies and had my apartment keys in hand and bag unloaded within one hour and fifteen minutes of landing, a new record for me and particularly impressive given that our apartment was in Leidseplein. I then pulled out my phone to text Dr D, our best friend, to see where he and his brother were so that I could meet up with them. After I didn't get an answer to my text after a few short minutes, I called as well. No answer on the phone either, grrr. I felt a pang of frustration, but then I remembered that I had set a back-up meeting location at Amnesia at 5:30. Yay, planning.

A huge grin spread over my face. Two hours all to myself! If I played my cards right, I could hit Mellow Yellow, pick out some treats for later, have a quick smoke, grocery shop, and hit Basjoe's by then! (Ambitious Monkey) I raced out the door, debating between groceries or weed first, and decided that it had to be weed, even if the smart call was groceries and I was at Mellow Yellow in a blink. My face almost cracked open I was smiling so hard by the time I walked into the bustling shop.

Mellow Yellow's S-5 Haze, June 2010

I asked the bud tender what was good, and he immediately pulled out the Sleeze. I took one whiff and knew it immediately. "That's the sleezestack from last fall?" I asked him. It smelled unbelievably funky delicious, like stank and yum. He confirmed, and I admired the bud but passed on it as DrJ hadn't cared for it much- found it a bit too sour and tweaky. I had found it to be such a strong stone that you almost started to feel high again, which I liked just fine. I would have gotten it just for myself, but I wanted something more sativa to start.

Mellow Yellow's Chocolope, June 2010

The next thing he showed me was the S-5 haze, which I was instantly ready to buy based on the fact that it was literally the most perfect looking bud I had ever seen and it smelled like utter heaven. Not to mention the high praise it had gotten from folks over here like Island Girl. I picked out a beautiful nug that weighed in at just over 2 grams. I also grabbed a bit of their Chocolope, as it looked good and was on the list of things I was keeping in mind for DrJ's birthday dinner. I picked up the two beautiful bags of bud and a Mango Looza and I turned around just as the seat by the window opened up. I was sure the universe loved me as I sat down to roll my first joint. (to be continued)[/b]

Stoned- Alas, I am already home, but I will definitely check it out next trip.

I think this will convey better than words just how beautiful the S-5 Haze is at Mellow Yellow right now:

Yeah, it smells exactly like sweet limes, which are these incredibly floral-smelling citrus fruit, with real limes and kaffir lime leaves mixed in. Seriously I would wear that smell as a perfume if I could bottle it.
