That said, I get Cali for the same price people would charge for quality local-grown in the UK, let alone import + there has been a slump in production amongst my local gardening friends so indeed times are somewhat tough, why the hell not smoke (relatively) cheap Cali?

I mean hell people in the UK pay even more absurd prices for said import (you guys invented the 50 quid gram of Cali) despite having as you described it much better and cheaper weed. So since Brits that live in the UK still smoke Cali and pay even more ridiculous prices for it does that mean UK weed is not all it's cracked up to be? Hmmm I wonder...

Not to mention that you also at said time, were utterly slamming Dutch weed calling it shit and un-flushed blahblahblah, then you came a month or two back and said something to the effect it being on par with UK weed if you went to the right shop (Ballonnetje), so you also have your rewritten opinions too man...don't throw stones at passersby from your glasshouse dude!

my reason for saying "fuck cali weed" is that most of it has addatives that are illegal in "the land of the free" for use in food production. fine for smoking tho yeah?

alot of weed that is found in coffeeshops is either haze (which i can get here for about £2 a gram, and even then i dont want it) or unflushed fake ass OG which burns black and tastes awful

even het ballonetje let me down this time, their orange diesel was the blackest ash i smoked all week!

naturally as a resident you have access to home growers that as a tourist i do not, so i cant comment on that. i am sure they will be growing better tho and as there is alot of competition their weed will be cheaper than the coffeeshops. in the uk top shelf does go for coffeeshop money even if you buy in ounces.

ive never seen anyone charging 50 a gram for cali, and i would slate them if i did, tends to be 30 a gram and (upto) 100 a 3.5 anyone charging more than that is ripping people off (more than the rest of them are which is still totally ripping people off)

thankfully ive got 3 friends who are all growing small crops, enough to keep those 3, myself and another couple of people swimming in it. clean tasty and pure white when burnt. just how it should be.

All good points and fair/honest assessment of how the scene is in both the UK & the Netherlands, so kudos for that.

To some extent yes, you first made some snarky remark to the effect (almost verbatim) "I haven't smoked such shitty weed since Amsterdam" so naturally yes I did get defensive for my adopted hometown, even if it was over something that stupid or trivial.

Then in the same chat conversation period, you mentioned your mates going to Colorado to which I replied "oh Colorado is great, beautiful nature, good prices and quality, etc." before could even hit send on the comment you wrote "you couldn't pay me to go to the US" which I did construe as a personal attack against me because almost everyone on here knows I'm from the States - maybe that's not how you meant so apologies if so, but based on context that was how I took it at that time ...and that was the birth of this two-way saltiness between us, though I did try to make amends when you were back in town visiting in June, but anyway...

Also you can't really trust any coffeeshops as being 100% reliable or consistent these days, that's the sad truth of it.

Regarding PGRs and all that, you're lucky to have trusted mates cropping out, but most people even in much of the UK, Spain, Holland the US, etc. don't have that luxury. I personally think if you don't know the grower the chance of it being tainted to the same level or more of the Cali stuff you mention is about equal. Anyway, none of the import have burned (on the rare occasions I do) has been black, nor has all of it been exceptionally white, but most close enough.

my reasons for not wanting to visit regardless of how much i was paid (which believe it or not has been offered) or whos there or not

1 i struggle with a 2 hr flight to barcelona, 7+ to the states no chance
2 the PGR situation which at the time i (wrongly) believed that all US weed was full of it
3 trump
