Natural Fiber:

So basically, clothes are made from the natural fiber which is eco-friendly as well as does not produce any harmful chemicals to pollute nature. These clothes always last longer than most of the disposable things in your home and definitely you can wear them again and again to save your money. The natural fiber helps in decreasing pollution.

If you will buy a short-span garment which will be useless after 2 times use then you have no idea it’s quite harmful and later it will be dumped along with the textile waste which is going to pollute the environment. At the time of sewing or buying, always go for the natural fiber garment to promote your work.

Use the Scrap:

To have a scrap doesn’t mean that you need to dump it somewhere. Many sewers do creative things with the scrap they have, they like to cut them into the patches and create something unique from it. People like to cut the scrap and use it to mend the hole in some of your clothing or you can create a catalog just by drawing something on the pieces.

As a sewer, you must have enough creativity to understand what you can really do from the scrap and how you can save the planet from pollution just by your single act? Another thing you can do from the scrap is that hang them on the wall by creating a mat or decorate your sewing space by joining them together in the form of some letter or any shape. This will inspire other people as well to use their scrap instead of dumping it.

Buy Less, Waste Less:

Another thing you can do to make the sewing more suitable to the environment is to buy less and waste less. Never buy things in bulk which you have to throw later. Buy what you can really use and always go for the products which are natural ingredients made. If you will go towards the cheap and raw material then it will be wasted in just a few days and you can’t create anything out of it.

Welcome to the forum.

What dates will you be in Amsterdam?
I'll post you on the Whos In Town page.
You can see who else may be in town and any Toke & Talks that are planned.

I am sure you will get plenty of recommendations from many reliable sources here.

Depending on how long you will be in town, I suggest a 15 minute train ride to Haarlem. make it a half day trip, noon to 18:00 and back to Amsterdam for it's nightlife. I often stay in Haarlem and commute to Amsterdam if I wish.

Enjoy
