Mint hotel, stayed in a Twin Room that had a balcony. Really clean rooms and decent size compared to most in Amsterdam. Also has the best Coffeeshop below serving the Highest Quality Weed....

Stayed in may triple room nice big room only thing was being no TV but no complaints really who goes to the dam to watch the tv given free drinks when checking in communal showers were great and absolutely spotless be prepared to climb a hell of a lot of stairs tho  cleaning lady is brilliant very funny was telling us a few days earlier some guy fell down the stairs from top to bottom and hit the front door haha so so quiet considering the location good comfy beds and come and go with ur key card as you please considering the prices in amsterdam you will struggle to get better value for money than what voyagers offer

Huge thanks to the forum for the reviews and "big ups" of voyagers hotel as I would never have found booking for it elsewhere. I have stayed twice now in the single basic room 7 & 9, think I prefer the canal side room. I was last there back in June for a week and tried the gorilla glue which was very good but it had sold out by the end of the week. I'll be back at voyagers in September for 5 days, everything people say good about this place is true, clean and affordable with comfy beds and the cleaning lady is a star, always helps me with the bag down the stairs on checkout. You can't fault the location.

Its very noisy on the Weekend but that's because of the location and you should know it before.

The Beds, Shower, Toilet and the room was clean and the staff was really nice. 100% would stay again here.

The official policy states that smoking isn't allowed, because there are very sensitive smoke detectors in the rooms. I assume there are specific legal reasons for that policy. But it's fairly well-known that these rooms are popular with smokers, and that smoke detectors don't go off if you smoke next to an open window.

Or perhaps I was the only person to realise that, untli krupinska showed up, and everyone else was playing by the rules.

Well yeah...

Some VERY specific rules to be honest!

I have no doubt that some people still do smoke in the rooms, tho it's been a while since I've seen the whole hotel emptied in the early hours because someone broke those rules.

I'm not going to get into whether or not smoking should or should NOT be allowed in hotels... I was merely testing the veracity of that rather bold statement from the previous poster. I was chatting to Andy only a few days ago and I'm sure he would have mentioned a big change like that.

You wanna do it? Go right ahead.
You set off the fire alarms cos you're being a bit too lazy to go outside and cause ME to have to leave my bed? You're risking a swim in the canal.

I reserve an inexpensive vaporizer (vapcap) for the purpose of enjoying a nighttime session or two. Otherwise, it's straight out the door and across the way to the canal for full j. Rain or shine, it's a lovely experience and one I am looking forward to immensely. Just so happy to be in XXX.

I am not going to be the one setting off an alarm, I couldn't imagine the embarrassment. Do they chuck you out if caught?

I've seen people booted out the door on the 1st day of a 4 night stay. No refunds.
Discretion is the key.
Stand on the balcony, balance out of the window or use a vape. Just remember that if you get caught, you're not just breaking hotel rules, you're breaking the law.
The hotel itself can be at risk if there are constant and repeated fire alarms going off because of inconsiderate individuals.
I've been staying here for many years and hope to continue to do so, so please excuse me if I seem a little up-front about this,
Sorry, but that's the way I see it.
Coffeeshops have enough problems with idiots risking their licences and their livings as it is. The amount of times I've seen people asked to put their tobacco away and they just ignore it... Then they get offended when pulled up on it a 2nd time.
I was in Dam last week and saw too many morons getting thrown out of coffeeshops because they just can't follow the rules. If you REALLY respect this city and want to keep coming back, then just behave, can't you? In the 30 odd yrs I've been coming here, I've seen so many places closed down...
Sorry. Rant over. And apologies if Voyagers have indeed been granted licence to allow smoking in the hotel rooms. But somehow I doubt it.

If I were running the joint (pun intended) I'd do exactly the same.

No sir, please don't apologise. You have a good point and make it well.
Just recently there have been a spate of 'incidents' on this forum with younger members loose lips.
Tell it like it is buddy.

I'd like to think this is a forum for adults. We can handle your rants 8)
