From humble beginnings as a place for the occasional non-coffeeshop related discussion,
Off Topic has grown into a world of its own.
It's now a set of sub-forums reflecting some of the common themes of conversation.

Boner oversees the Off Topic section as a whole but we're looking for specialists to lead each of the sub-forums.

Twichaldinho has taken on Politricks and Cantona7 is managing Sport.

There were many nominees for Personal including Blueberry, Cattales, Chillers, Hestia, Luvtick, Rufus, Snow White, Tutti, Winnie and more.
We now have a team of Chillers2, Cattales1960 and Tuttiflutes installed there
but they may even welcome another of the nominees to join them and further spread the load.

2rollingStoned, Codejd, Spidergawd and StonedSince'67 have all been nominated for Music.
I'm sure any of them would make fine choices but none of them have indicated willingness yet.
I must admit, I'd quite like to see 2rollingStoned doing it because, not only is she a music fan,
but she has the perfect name for the job.

Taylor has been nominated for Games but also hasn't indicated willingness.

Cattales has offered to take on Films & TV but probably has enough on her plate with Personal really.

Balou has been nominated for, and has agreed to do, anything.


Please post here if you'd like to nominate someone to look after any of the sub-forums.
Obviously we want relaxed people but it would also be good to have people with relevant knowledge,
so a music fan for Music, a screen fan for Films & TV, a comedian for Fun and so on.

The people who take on these roles will get some extra buttons to play with
so that they can do housekeeping tasks such as merging, splitting and moving topics.
I also hope they will play an active part in their domains, replying to posts when they can and spreading good vibes.

Lem while we are "moving forward" can you implement a process of approving sticky threads? I realize over time there are going to tons of requests over stickys but....

1. Some sticky topcis will help keep repeats down.
2. This will help make the community stronger, and more positive. For people who enjoy writing this will be like a goal/award to reach/achieve.
3. Their are already many obvious strong/smart contributors to each forum section, and obvious thread topics that stay at the top "What are you smoking *PICS* comes to mind.
4. Use common sense for each thread, be strick, and the first 9 threads won't be all stickys like "those other forums"
....let me elaborate......
obviously it would be *bias/stupid* to do stickys in certain parts (coffeeshop reviews comes to mind, and growing can always be so specific to grow room maybe 1 simple sticky...reviewed by each sections appropriate moderator then approved by Boner/You) but in other areas its smart to have predetermined stickys (here is my pitch/example)

In the Legalization section have something like:
"VOTING BOOTH (where and when to go vote)"
....nothing else on this topic is more important....so moderators would be "hard pressed" to make any other stickys (so not to clog up to much)I think things like this can be predetermined and "set in stone"...for now .....another example would be a "self help" type tread for some *off topics* maybe? In the Transport section maybe a sticky "Links" to the official Amsterdam public transport website....a thread already exists on that one, and i didn't find it until after i was there.....it would have been great to see it right away. This and slashdot are the only forums I frequent so its I didn't come here with any experience with phpBB. We all use it now, and its simple to us, but certain parts should really start to be put in sticky for 1st time visitors. Growing and improving can only results in positive things for marijuana. You have a great opportunity here hosting this forum, and expanding it in positive ways can only lead to better things for all of us partaking in our forum.

I'm going to go against a concentrate forum as I dont see a need for it, they are after all just strains of cannabis so any concentrate related topics can just go in there, too many forums and the place will just get confused imho.
