Never did it personally (at least with any success), but in Southeastern US - the psychonaut forager's rite of passage involves (often illegally at risk of catching shotgun shells) trespassing onto vast cow pastures and searching the "cow patties" for massive fruiting bodies of Psilocybin Cubensis.
Those are also called Wavy Cap mushrooms, and they grow in the UK too, in one site a huge number of 100,000 were found a few years ago!

As you know, they are also the strongest 'shrooms!! Very visual, very strong, can easily cause complete "ego death" and out-of-body experiences - only 0.8-1.0g is a standard 'full trip' dose, then upto 2 grams it gets very intense, and after 2 grams, upto 3 or 4g, causes a total Ego Death, the whole body is often completely immobilised lay on the floor, and out of body experiences result - it usually ends up with the tripper in hospital at this level of ingestion!!!

So if anyone finds them, treat them with respect !!!
Psilocybe Cubensis (which Nugs mentions) are not called wavy caps, wavy caps are Psilocybe Cyanescens and grow on wood chips as opposed to cow dung. Cubensis would never grow outdoor in the UK, it's a tropical variety. There are a lot of GREAT people on Shroomery.org who are actively spreading Psilocybe Cyanescens all over the UK and documenting it on the forums over there. I do enjoy following those threads  In a world of bad news it's good to know people are spreading shroom spores :)

Thanks for the correction and apologies for the misinformation, I got the names mixed up, and will go back to correct it so people searching on Google don't get the wrong info, lol

By the way, have you ever tried wavy caps?
