Supplier Review: GrowAce.com

Post by ed the head »

Pros:
Extensive variety of indoor horticulture equipment
Well designed starter kits

Cons:
Slow delivery
Multiple damaged components
Laborious and adversarial return policy
Argumentative Customer Support

I wish this Supplier could get their shipping and customer support acts together. With those two components broken, this Supplier is best avoided. Pictured below, a 2x4 'kit' and further below the 440 CFM fan GrowAce is so challenged to deliver undamaged. The kit comes with 2 but I only have 1 working since July. To date 2/3rds of GrowAce fans are received damaged.

Happy grows

Update:

I found a comparable unit (6" 440 CFM duct fan) at Home Depot for 69.99 vs. 99.99 at GrowAce. :problem: ... so much for their 'lowest available prices' claim.

Further advantage of Home Depot: Free shipping; fast shipping; easy return.

That arrived 10/21, works like a dream and got set in place. This enabled me to say good riddance to GrowAce's noisy RMA unit.

Meanwhile, negotiations on these issues with GrowAce's Support Team further deteriorated to an impasse and I submitted complaints to the Better Business Bureau.

I now see two FedEx orders to track. The first one shipped 10/22, the order I cancelled on 10/16, and reiterated to GrowAce on 10/19, 10/20 and 10/21.

The second FedEx shipped 10/21, and should be the 2nd RMA replacement for my original purchase.

To manage my own expectations and sanity, I am expecting to receive two more damaged fans.

Stay tuned

Advance Spectrum MAX 450 Watt High Output Panel

This is my first experience with LED lights. Have used HPS and MH in years pasts. According to my reading, this one is optimized for the flowering stage. Can't wait to get there, it's performing spectacularly in veg. The quality of seed and improved environmental factors are no doubt contributing but still, very impressed with this Advance Spectrum MAX 450 Watt High Output Panel. 9/10 of an amp!

Hey Ed, have you looked into Mars lighting? They have a nice variety of LED lights and the prices are pretty reasonable.
I bought a Mar Hydro TS 1000. Really nice and it has adjustable lighting. LED has definitely come a long ways in the last couple of years, especially in price. :D

Here's the link.

Sad. Even employing the aid of the BBB, GrowAce failed miserably in responding to this issue.

All I wanted was to return an unwanted, unused and canceled order fan. What I got in return was a 34 days of hassle involving multiple returned bad units and a lot of bullshit.

I can never use these crooks again and advise extreme caution in considering them as your supplier.
