Denver Activists hand out Joints to protest High Pot Tax
Re: Denver Activists hand out Joints to protest High Pot Tax
25 per cent tax does not sound like a high sin tax. How does that compare with alchohol or tobacco taxes?

25% is ridiculously high.
there is no tax on booze.
just normal sales tax if you buy it retail.

I remember a 25% tax rate being talked about before the election, seemed reasonable, considering that a sales tax is collected on all sort of things, and the excise tax is to fund the schools. The people of CO have done what I have hoped for, for the last 45 years, I will gladly pay the tax, the more taxes paid the more states will follow.

Stores aren't even open yet, and they're already foaming at the mouth for taxes...

They should be fucking content with the fact that it is now legal in their area (oh jesus 25% tax, run to the hills). Some of us still live in a backward shithole lol.

My thoughts exactly. Everything we buy in the UK is taxed at 20% and Im sure alcohol and cigarettes are taxed even more. Just be glad your not going to get arrested!HasAnyoneSeenMyPipe wrote:They should be fucking content with the fact that it is now legal in their area (oh jesus 25% tax, run to the hills). I agree.
25% is ok. Look at Cigarrettes. In Germany a pack costs arround 5€ (inklusive ~3,50€ Tax).
I would pay 50% tax when it´s legal.
And at all i think most locals grow their own or have other connections.

25% is nuts guys.
sales tax is like 5-7%
thats like 3x sales tax.
booze doesn't get taxed
neither do cigs.
so ya, this is nuts.
10-15% I think is reasonable.
20%+ is ridiculous.
