I have a lot of time for those that while rebelling against the 'normal' chart scene develop a genre that stands the test of time while itself evolving into other spin off noisy neighbours.

The incestuous Motown brand was responsible for spawning (what we call in the UK) the Northern Soul style. The discarded artists developed their own sound and a few, very few, went running back when they were successful. Shame on them.
