Not looking good :-(

I like bananas, monkey nuts and grapes. That's why they call me Sam of the apes

Just found this thread. Anyone with any brilliant ideas this time round?

I'll take that as a no, then.

It hasn't been brilliant so far, but then the first two days for me never are. Traditionally this is where I recoup my losses with a Venetia Williams runner in the Mildmay of Flete (might as well use the old name, it gets a new sponsor every year now). She's won it three times – not always with the most fancied of her runners, as she usually has more than one – and even before she had her first winner in it, most of her runners placed. She's had the forecast once.

Unfortunately, that trick hasn't worked for the past two years. This time she's got four runners, or would have done, but Tenor Nivernais is out. And I can't help sneaking a look at Dubawi Island in the Pertemps, because Kayf Aramis won it and I backed it at a bigger than SP price, but I really can't see any reason why this year's entry should run better than a 66/1 shot.

Anyway, quiet here. I'll just share a quiet pipe with myself.
