If u do the math on that article it means that there are more tourists than locals at any one time, all the time in Amsterdam..
Mad...wonder what the place would be like if u more than halved the population...who would buy all the cakes that the mice
run around at night ...was this not tried and failed with the weed pass before

Re: Worrying news from Amsterdam Mayor's office
Sebastiaan Meijer, spokesman for the Mayor has denied that there is any plan to ban foreigners from coffeeshops according to Dutch News but there is reference to making coffeeshops less attractive and exploration of cutting out the illegal backdoor supply chain which could result in only approved grown weed being sold in coffeeshops. So such weed would have legal status within Amsterdam relieving the pressure on coffeeshop owners but presumably the produce would be less attractive to a lot of the people on this forum because the potency would be controlled.
That`s how I see it.

Not that worrying really. Been here before with the wietpass, and I gather the locals aren’t big fans of the current mayor.
Anyway, if you think the RLD has been there for CENTURIES and that little vice was only legalised in the 90s

Again, there was never ever a weedpass in Amsterdam

Yes, you’re right, but it was a very hot topic for a while until folks were sure what was what, as with this and the current mayor.

True I remember chillin in Amnesia years back and noticed a window visible from where I sat. The people I was with kind kindly explained that that was a blue light special. Good information to have to avoid a confusing business transaction.
Re: Worrying news from Amsterdam Mayor's office
I heard from a executive employee of a coffee shop in Amsterdam last week that they fight hard against the possible i-criterium in Amsterdam at the moment. That could be related to corona and the increasing numbers of infections in the last week... Like in the redlight area and some other areas you have to wear a face mask now even outside (also in some parts of Rotterdam) because it´s so busy there again. Hopefully that calms down again *fingers crossed".
