Megaton, do you mean to say there will be like a parole hearing after the 21 years and then every five from then on and if he is not deemed 'rehabilitated', he will serve life?
I think the death toll is 68 on the island, 8 in the bombing.

.... And they think he was in talks with two British groups, possibly EDL and BNP re: bombing a UK Nuclear station to try to place blame on Islamic extremists?.....

It quotes even more: "At least 93 people were killed in twin attacks on a government building and a youth training camp in Oslo on Friday."

As predicted, the EDL are denying it, but he is saying a different story. Who are you going to believe? And with terrorist attacks is complicated, framing someone else is not a thing that is easy to disregard, especially when it's like the BNP and with an overlook on how many Muslims and immigrants are in the UK, for instance. It really makes you wonder who is behind what and whether the reason is not simply to throw guilt onto someone else - I mean, did he give any motive to what he did? I mean they haven't declared him a maniac or anything.

Geert Wilders issues statement on PVV Norway shooting links

Tuesday 26 July 2011

Geert Wilders on Tuesday issued a statement on the Norwegian shootings, in which he condemned the actions of Anders Breivik in Norway as those of a psychopath and a lunatic.

Breivik made at least 30 mentions of Wilders and his anti-Islam PVV party in the 1,500-page manifesto he circulated after Friday's bloodbath and said Wilders was a person he really wanted to meet.

And according to Britain's Telegraph newspaper, Breivik was in London to support Wilders when he gave a speech last March.

In the statement, Wilders says he is repulsed that the gunman 'refers to me and the PVV in his manifesto'. Breivik is misusing the battle against Islam and his actions are 'a slap in the face for the worldwide anti-Islam movement,' Wilders said.

Ballot box

'The Party for Freedom has never ever called for violence and will never do so,' Wilders said. 'We believe in the power of the ballot box and the wisdom of the voter.'

The manifesto shows Breivik is a lunatic, Wilders says. 'He wants to work together with Al Qaida, he longs to blow up cities, dreams of knights who mutilate themselves and meeting his hero Karadzic.'

Since the bombing and the shooting, a number of Dutch commentators have said the PVV and Wilders have helped create an atmosphere which has demonised the multicultural society and the 'left-wing elite'.

Labour

Breivik said in court on Monday his attack on the island youth camp was aimed at wiping out the next generation of Labour party leaders.

Political scientist Jean Tillie says in Tuesday's Telegraaf that Wilders both limits and feeds extremism. Wilders' ideas reduce the world to a simple place, Tillie says: 'They are the good guys who have to combat the enemy, but the world is not that simple,

I am sorry for my poor english, but yes, there will be a parole hearing after the 21 years, and then every five years for the rest of his remaining life, in theory making it a life sentence.

It is also true that they are thinking of charging him with crimes against humanity in order to increase the sentence to 30 years. There is also a possibility for him to be declared insane, but this is not likely.

The scariest thing of all is just how sane he is.
My thoughts go out to all Norwegians, things like this you cannot plan for. And dealing with it is no easy feat either.

Marco, I do apologise, it wasn't the most sensitive thing to discuss after such a short period of time. My thoughts are with the victim's relatives and friends (I recently lost a friend myself, so I am nowhere near insensitive on the subject). I guess when it comes to terrorism talks, I'm a bit cynical.

When the world press combines religion and race into being two subjects which are not mutually exclusive from one another, and a general Islamphobia inflicts society and is accepted. A mad man will act in this way. He thought what he was doing was correct, he was brain washed. The world needs to wake up and realise that he is created by us as a society, we need to start moving away from sentionalised reporting of groups of people to try and prevent this happening again.
