I finally found a Jack Black movie I really like. A dark comedy based on a true story.

Tarkan Vs The Vikings (1971)
A truly bonkers Sword & Sandal movie from Turkey...If you enjoy seeing people ripped apart by a giant octopus (albeit in glorious low budget fashion) or battle scenes featuring shots of babies being stabbed with axes, then this is the movie for you! A Cult Classic.

Yes, I saw this movie. Very good performances. Great story. Jack Black trying to flex his serious acting chops.geoffk wrote:I finally found a Jack Black movie I really like. A dark comedy based on a true story.
He has such a gift for comedy. Why does every comedian want to be the next Tom Hanks anyway. What is all that about?
Also i am watching season 3 of thr walking dead.

Just downloaded and watched the Adywan cut of Star Wars. For me the definitive cut. Can't wait for him to finish Empire.
TV wise it's Season 3 of The Walking Dead and Season 3.5 of Spartacus.

Saw Star Trek @ BFI Imax in 'true IMAX 15perf 70mm film format' and the quality of some of the 3D was AMAZING! fairly uneventful film, but some of the visuals were mind blowing.

Maybe the best ending of any movie ever.redeyezman wrote:They Live!
Also the most ridiculously over the top fight scene between the 2 heroes.
Class. Ahead of its time in some ways.
Just saw Pacific Rim. A wonderful film if they literally cut out about 80% of scenes that do not include action or robots fighting.
Poor old film choked on its sub plots and festered in it's snails pace plot progression and unnecessary cameos (Ron Perlman take note) until a particularly cringe inducing moment killed it off 2/3 of the way through.
However to see massive monsters and robots fight at the movies is what it is all about. Especially in 3D. Perhaps the rest of the film was meant to be z movie style crap and I'm missing something but I expected a lot better from del Torro..

Re: what film(s) are u watching
Likely the best non-narrative film, IIRC, that I've ever seen, Baraka. I highly recommend.
There must have been a door there in the wall when I came in.
