RIP Robin "Mork/Mrs. Doubtfire/Peter Pan" Williams

Post by Uncle Ron »

Although a somber moment, I'm warmed by the memories of laughter that Robin Williams gave to me and untold millions (perhaps billions).
Suicide is no solution, it doesn't stop or prevent or cure something that doesn't exist - demons.
If people/society want to help addicts, stop calling their fight with addiction as battling "demons", that would be a great start. Call it what it is - a disease.

I'm reminded of a scene from an American TV drama called West Wing (90's), where one of the leading characters was describing his battle with alcohol addiction.
He likened it to being trapped in a hole, and whomever he turned to for help, they couldn't.
...as I'm trapped in the hole, I see my family and friends move on, living their lives, not recognizing my pleas for help.
One day a Priest happened by, and I shouted "Father, I'm stuck in this hole, will you help me?" The Priest told me to kneel with him and pray. He said a few Hail Mary's, and walked off...
...a short time later my family doctor walks by and I shout at him for help. He writes a prescription and throws it into the hole, and walks off.
I'm still stuck in this hole...prayer doesn't work, medicine failed as well. Perhaps I should do everyone a favor and end it all?
As I'm contemplating my next move, a friend walks by, and in a final desperate act, I shout to him - "hey friend, I'm really stuck and nobody seems to be able to help, will you?" What my friend does next took me by complete surprise - he jumped into the hole with me. Shocked and horrified, I asked why did he jump into the hole, because now we are both stuck? He told me not to worry because he's been exactly where I've been and knows the way out.
If you know of someone with this disease (regardless of the drug), be there for them... and when the time comes that this person really needs some help, seek the assistance of a recovering addict, because they are the only ones that know what it takes to overcome ones addictions.
Love and Kindness...
RIP Robin...

Most comedians have metal problems of some kind! They use humour to express them selfs most use their life stories to make ppl laugh . Just look at Richard Pryor on stage about how he he set himself on fire doing drugs ... It's sad how ppl think depression is a joke !

I saw this on another website that I spend half my time on, http://www.cracked.com/quick-fixes/robi ... hemselves/

I think it's pretty acurate. Also Russell Brand wrote a piece thats really good, he ends it with: "What I might do is watch Mrs Doubtfire. Or Dead Poets Society or Good Will Hunting and I might be nice to people, mindful today how fragile we all are, how delicate we are, even when fizzing with divine madness that seems like it will never expire."

Robin Williams was a comedy giant, his stand up about weed being one of the first cannabis comedy routines I watched on YouTube, Aladdin and Mrs Doubtfire two of the greatest films of my childhood. Celeb deaths don't usually bother me, except to iritate me how much coverage they get compared to Gaze/ Syria / the super soldiers Kim Jong Un is probably building, but Robin Williams's death was a shock. Someone wrote "the world must be fucked up if robin williams doesnt want to live in it anymore."

The man was on his 3rd wife. The man's most recently powerful film was about a dad dealing with a sexual repressed son who practiced auto-erotic asphyxiation masterbation, and died...you know like David Carradine did in the phillopeans without a family image legacy to upkeep, and all the means to clean up quick and titty like you'd have in California. We've all gotten to drunk, and did a line or 2. You really gonna kill yourself because you made a party foul mistake? Seems unlikely especially considering if your party favors were at a fun party.... I think we can all forgive ourselves pretty easily, since it didnt hurt anybody other than ourselves, generally speaking. He also went back into sitcom, which correct me if im wrong, hasn't had to do since his start of career? Don't forget we are in a midst of a money shift, and the entire world just become exponentially more greedy. Are you still thinking about his drug addiction? I doubt he was either.

I heard a feminist on a socialist web-outlet pissed off (pissed about Christian shame) because access to abortions was as not widely available and accepted as procedures to resolve heart-diseases. My fucking jaw dropped, and the interview just continued. You...cant...choose...to have heart disease or not....You can choose to have safe sex or not....So lets get this right....some women in some (wish to remain nameless) countries are not to be seen, or heard, or pleasured, but solely to carry on the human race as their sole responsibility, and if they dont its legal to kill them? And you....ms thang....think your choices should be without judgment like someone who has heart disease? Wow. Just wow. Why would men be sexual repressed? Must be due to the fact their to much of an asshole, to get laid.  All because, what? a 10% differences in salaries? Wow, theres that greed again...Fucken taxes are more than that, fuck.

And now for a few laughs

Retreat? Not a bad idea...

SPOILER ALTER if you havent seen the movie this is the closing scene, to epic music
