I ended up in the bulldog closest to the Oude Kerk and the Rockshop (both had outside seating and the girlfriend who I travelled with preferred that), I liked the ambience and the bulldog coffee which was lovely but the weed there is bad. Bought a gram each of Lemon Haze and some diesel variety and neither had any effect on me whatsoever. The gram of diesel was essentially one big twig and I spoke to the dealer about it, he then gave me a choice of a handful of other bags that all looked the same! I also strongly suspect they shake their buds and keep the kief for hashish which after chatting to a few locals in Abraxas Too seems to be the norm in dam.

All in all 9/10 for decoration ambience and drinks but 4/10 for weed, buy yours elsewhere and pop in for a bulldog coffee!

Mmm.... saving grace open at 09.30 in the morn... bought some widow here and although I do not usually buy anything that isn't weighed for me or I have seen/smelt first (all bagged up), but Crush was closed & it was 10am and needed something to start the day. Bouncer was a good guy, which makes a change from the Gestapo power hungry muppets elsewhere. Quick cafe and toke, don't see why this gets so busy, I must of missed something..

First timers and people who don't research. All in all... any coffeeshop still open is a good thing.

Daytime -you can get a decent enough breakfast , evening you can have a drink upstairs in a liberal atmosphere which most cities would die for. Do not understand the feelings against this place

Anyway - when staying a few years ago locally - and refusing to pay around 18 or so Euro for a "hotel" breakfast - had a much cheaper and good enough one at the (nearby) Bulldog - had a look at the menu on spec and bought a 1g of Chocolope. Skinned up with an extra coffee and frankly had to return to the hotel for a lie down. Lightweight yes - but hugely appreciative.

Been there several times since , staff always decent and friendly enough....
