Maxcy's Maastricht

Post by RvanSteensel »

ACD Page: Maxcy's Maastricht

Cant find a topic on this ,

Real oldschool coffeeshop , which actually looks like a place meant to serve coffee .
Middle big smoking area with a corner to play games , usually Magic the Gathering is being played by sum comicboyz lolz
Good drink menu , i think this was the first shop back in the day that sold caprisuns :D
This place is known to give generous baggies :D

Used to go here all the time before the wietpass ,
they used to have their weedselection on this TINY ass stickytaped paper that usually said :
Thai 5.50
Shiva 8
NLX 8
Durban Haze 11
Super Jack 11
And on the back there would be a few hashes

The super jack was probably a sannies jack , really sick sweet haze
The durban haze was like a cotton candy durban poison .

Been here some time ago and was blazed by a HUGE menu
I tried the Gorilla Glue a time ago and it was OK , not as good as the Mistral , a citrol crossing
which kicked ass at only 9eu a gram .

Now fast forward to today , there is a big menu with shiva and super jack still on it .
Super jack sucked dick , Shiva was really good , and also a very generous bag like i was used to back in the dayz

Since that one popped up time to wallow in reminiscences me thinks.
Never sampled here often but had a look every now and then. The only option for a consumption on site here as shop despite being relatively basic but clean was good enough for that compared to Smurf and Lucky Time on the same street(any kids remember them? They're both now belonging to Mississippi chain I think.), let alone one of my favourite shitholes for some reasons which was Slow Motion.
Though here menu rarely changed, glad that is gone now.
Also remember one ultra stoned but friendly enough budtender.
That's it though.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, RvanSteensel.

Liked their Jack Flash cut back in the days, was some great fruity jack with that skunky wiff. The shop changed when they had to install the smoking room, it cut the place in 2.

I would love to visit Maastricht again, south nl is a great place.

i honestly dont think the place changed allot .
The lighting seems to be more distributed now , which may take away a little charm.
But atleast they live up to their reputation budwise , and seating is still pretty much the same

Shop itself didn't change , back then it was a big deal with autorities, smoking room was full capacity everyone was getting in there, but before that you could just get some chessplate and enjoy your smoke.

must be easier now.

Visited Maxcy's a couple of times with friends in the second half of the 00's, before the introduction of the Wietpas. Nice place with a pleasant atmosphere. The first visit was very relaxed (and exciting). Later, along the introduction of a doorman checking IDs, the atmosphere seemed less so.

Bought White Widow and Jack Herer at about €50/5g. WW was fine, a bit earthy. JH was better.
All for one and one for all.
