Dubai has some of the strictest drug laws in the world. People have been imprisoned for trace amounts of controlled substances, which could be a piece of resin stuck to your shoe. You can be convicted of possession if you test positive in a urine or blood test. Even OTC and prescription medications can land you in prison. And, theoretically, there's the death penalty.
