Amsterdam is one of the most expensive places on earth to live. Just last month the inflation rate was over 3% for the month. If you can do math you realize that could be over 30% for the year. It is a very expensive place to live. I don't think Gapie can work and probably lives very very humbly like most Europeans and has little or no extra for his social life. He is a fun and interesting guy and I don't think many people have any problem with spending a few Euro's on him for his company and entertainment. Since you do, all you have to do is avoid him or don't offer when he is around. I have never seen him beg and I think his good attitude goes much further then your poor jealous attitude. But whatever. I for one am happy to buy Gapie a drink and share a joint when I cross his path.

I can easily show myself around town. I have been to Amsterdam often enough to actually know people and be recognized in certain establishments, but I was happy to meet gapie and have him show me around to a bunch of shops I had never been to before, it's great to have a local's opinion and expertise on the better places and purchases. I don't mind sharing my weed and as far as buying a drink, I don't mind that either as long as I am financially able. Plus, gapie is kind enough to let me shoot video of him as we enjoy ourselves...

well yes he has in my company anyways...the first time i met gapie was for a tnt i had set up at nes and he showed up with two other guys not from acd but still alot of fun to be around with gapie had several types of weed on his own and rolled one after the other ...as far as drinks go he bought his own beer and later the whole table was invited for a round by dave....i since than have run into gapie several times over the years and most of the times he had weed and did roll at least one joint...i never felt like i need or should buy him a drink and i happily shared my weed with him and as mentioned before i never seen or heard of him begging so its always free will to share with him or not no one is forced to and if you choose not to thats fine ...
it goes both ways gapie has done ALOT for ALOT of forum members over the years and sometimes i think the ones that hate him and keep trying to call him out publicly may secretly envy him and his life in mokum! haters will hate oh well...

I love Gapie, however your information on inflation is wrong. The annual inflation rate in 2012 was 2.47%. A 30% inflation rate would but us in Weimar Germany territory and obviously is not happening.

Firstly I have never met the guy, but he seems like on of the most active and ready to help out members on this forum, so I don't think that I personally would ever have a problem sharing a spliff or buying him a drink. The fact that no one so far on this thread has come out in support of your argument means I am inclined to think that this sounds like one disgruntled forum user, not the majority view =)

Yea felt the need to jump on your inflation figures as well here. Aside from what Marco has already pointed out, if we compare the Dutch inflation rate to other countries we find it is ranked 92nd in the world (higher ranking=higher inflation) and isn't in a particularly bad place at all.

Short answer-Yes

Long answer- Gapie has shown me some of the coolest places in Amsterdam, I don't mind smoking a few joints with him for this. The other day in Utopia he shared a Kandy Kush joint from Grey Area with me and I shared a joint of Yellow Cab with him. if you really want to nit pick, Kandy Kush is more expensive than yellow cab and we smoked one joint each so he Spent more in that meeting by sharing his joint with me than I did by sharing mine with him.

Also, most of us only visit Amsterdam for a week or so (Although some of us are lucky enough to have friends and family to stay with, allowing us to stay longer) and come with the intention of getting very very high, I've seen travelouges where people must have been spending 100+ euros a day on weed alone, and if someones taking time out their day to show you their city I wouldn't begrudge buying them a drink or sharing a spliff with them, especially if I was spending that sort of money already.
