Hey not sure if this is allowed but here goes can you fine folk reccomend a good website for a first time grow I have looked at a few sites but still want to find out more as don't want to invest money and it fail as it will put me off trying again lol

Theres plenty of grow forums. Those have the best information I think.
Generally with websites or magazines they may just tell you a shitty method, just to promote the sales of some fertilizer or hormone.
Best thing you can do on a first time grow. look at grow reports from other people. and try to copy the successful ones.
Make a priority list of decisions you have to make.

Ive read countless Books and "growers Porn" on the Internet before i started Growing.and onnce i actualy started i noticed it helped me nearly nothing lol
Its strange you think you know everything after reading some Books,and then you sit there and have Questions not answered in any Book,like "how many cm i can lower a HPS Lamp over fresh sprouted Seeds?? How much Water do i need to give? How big shall my Pots be??
But the good thing is,experience from growingh grows as quick as the Plants
Sadly the most important Fact is money.
You can start a Budget-Improvised Grow like i did the first Time,it would cost you around 120 Bucks.
You need to buy a 250 Watts Start-Up Device for the Lamp,i choosed spanish Made ones by "Layrton" which go for around 70 Euros.
Then you need a lightbulb for around 20 Bucks (Narwa is a east german Company making good Quality)
10 Bucks for a 40/50 Liters Bag of Potting Soil.Dont buy the "Light ones" which is basicaly shredded wood and far to high fertilzed,
Just select the highest Quality Brand,select a Brand which contains Perliite and a Rooting Help like Agrosil.
Perhaps you can buy the german brand "compo Sana",then go for "Quality Potting Soil"
A Bag in the 10-15 Euro Range should have the Quality needed.When your Dutch you can take Plagron.
Now you need to go and buy as many 5 Liter Destilled Water Bottles as you want to have plants,cause they will be your Pots...
Reason? Check the Price of a 5 Liter Distilled Water Container and a 5 Liter Flower Pot....Yeah... 1,50 to 25 or so is the Answer
5 Liter Distilled Water Canisters as Pot and 250 Watt HPS go together well.
Oh and i forgot a cheap Reflector with e-40 Mounting should go for around 10 Bucks.
And now you need Seeds.
Since strong Lamps produce many Heat and our Budget dont allows expensive Cool-Tubes or anything close to that,we have to use 250 Watt Lamps.
They can give 250 Gramms on a m² and they are not so hot that you need any cooling Device.
But they also dont shine very deep (dont get me wrong the whole Room is yellow when you turn them on but the effective radiation is somehow limited)
and thats why you should go for Strains which dont grow 3 Meters
CAUSE when you grow from Seeds,you need to wait the Pre-flowering (even if feminized Seeds or you may get Hermaphrodites which ruin your whole Crop)
that takes 3-4 Weeks after Sprouting.That means the Plants will already be like 30-40 cm when you start Flowering and this would give you 2 Meter Plants in the End
2 Meter Plants under a 250 Watt means Big Buds at the Top,Popcorn Buds in the Middle and Pea Buds down the Plant.
Thats why you need a Strain which dont grows 3 Meter even after it had 1 Month of Vegetation.
My Advice would be O-G Kush which grows around 70 cm and this seems to be perfect for 250 Watts.
When you extend your Arms to a circle when your Fingertipps meet,that is the amount you should calculate for a Plant.
Dont Calculate how many Pots you may fit under the Lamp.You will end up with under-lighted Popcorn Buds.
I learned from experience that 6 Plants is the Max you can fit under a 250 Watt and this already gives Problems. 4 Plants seems the be far better.I books you read things like 9 each m² but this is thought for cuttings in scrog,which have and end height of perhaps 40cm or so.
You can totaly forget this with Seeds.
If you have Questions i will answer them if i can.
Btw when you can invest more Money than the 120 of my Budget Grow--Its complicated,realy complicated to buy everything fitting to each other when you mix up Parts.
In case you can invest the 500,600 or more Dollars a Proffesional Grow Tent coest,do it.
But if you cant afford that,i made my first grow in a self made Tent made of Drainange Pipes (they have T-connections and Corners and everything,easy to make a Tent off)
and Blue Garbage Bags,it also worked...
When you would tell me which Country youre from,and how much you want to invest i would make a Shopping List with reasonable Parts.You can waste Money so quickly with growing by buying things like Ozon Generators and Stuff.
Its also a very,very important Question: Where you wanna Grow.I learned that smell-molecules dont sink down easy,they want to get up like hot air.When i go up the Stairs to my growroom i can exactly notice the "smell-border" in the Air.
Also dont imagine that 200 Gramms of Weed on the Plant would smell like 200 Gramms of Weed in a Bag.Dried Cured Weed somehow stinks far more than fresh one.
My plants mostly smell like wet soil,like outdoor Rain.But its still a Important Question.
Own House or rented Apartment
When you want to grow in a Apartment or Flat,where you go on a Floor and there are Doors to the Flats next to each other..you could fill the whole Floor with Weedsmell easy cause its on the same Level and usualy sealed off with spring-hinged Doors and few Air Flow.In that case you must buy a Tent,you must buy Carbon Filters and Air Blowers....this makes Growing easiyl 2-3 times as expensive as if you grow in your own House.
When you grow in your Own House,and you dont have the Money to buy a closed Tent with Carbon Filters,start without it and ask a Person you trust to see if he can smeel something when hes at your Housedoor or when he walks past opened Windows.
Basements. When you have a House with Basement and you want to grow in it you also need a Tent.Otherwise the Hydrogen in the Air will make your Weed mould.Basements are too wet and too cold in general.Attics or Rooms in the upper House Area seems to be the far best.
Weed-Smeel doesnt seem to sink down,so the Smell coming out of the Attic or 2nd Story Window wont sink down to the Road into peoples Noses,it will directly climb into the Sky.
I guess this Molecules are lighter than Air.
In Short: Apartment or rented Flat with many People on 1 Story/Level of the Building - Tent and Carbon Filters needed
House - No Carbon needed when on 2nd Floor or Attic-Basement to wet and Cold without heavy modifications like a Growtent/Sealed off Area

Well i forgot the Fertilizers.
I started with the Complete Soil Set from Hesi and i use it today too,i never saw a reason to change.
The first time i was soo scared cause everyone telling me "Over fertilzation causes most Problems...Better dont fertilize at all then fertilize too much" and things like that and i was soo carefull with the Phosphour Plus and the Bloom Complex that i gave the half dosage once a Week.
The Result was horrible underfertilized Plants with brown-yellow sandpaper Leaves.Back then i thought thats some Fungus or so...
Today i know it was just far too few Phoshphour.
Like i said i still work with HESI and i worked out this Plan.
Vegetation: 500 ml Water each second Day,in Flowering reduced to
400ml Water each second Day,and fertilizer in full Dosage on every second Watering.
I dont use Vegetation Fert. at all cause the Soil contains enough with Quality poting Soil.
But when i go to Blooming i add alot of P and K
I dont use PK 13/14 i think its too hardcore,i use PK 7/5 (Hesi Phosphour Plus)
I also use Hesi Bloom and every other Hesi Product they are all good as far as i can Judge them.
You get a nice Complete Set with 7 Bottles that should hold for at least a Year in the "Hesi Starter Set" for around 50 Bucks
Hesi has stuff others dont have as far as i know.Power Zyme for example containes Enzymes that eats Cellulose.Cellulose would normaly go into the Weed and it would make the Weed taste like Weed-stems,like burned Wood.
The Rootparts somehow rennew themself and dead cells would normaly change into cellulose and make the weed burn when inhaled,but Power Zyme makes it soft to inhale like Air
I like it much,i tested it with the strain "Special Queen" and the Plant who dont recieved it was alot more "coughy" when smoked than the others !
Root-Complex is also very good,even People who dont like Hesi admitt that Root-Complex is a fantastic Product.
New in Line is Hesi-Boost i cant realy say much about it im testing it atm.It smeels wonderfull and it supposed to make the Plants ripen evenly to calculate harvest time,and to speed up the flowering overall,its also supposed to enrich the Flowers with Sugar ,a type of Sugar not getting Caramel when heated,a type of Sugar which would make the Weed more Sweet.
Sounds intresting.I goggled the Ingredients and nothing seems chemical,only found things which come from Plants and are normaly in them so or so.Things like Galactol.

Get a PH pen-meter,keep it dailed in. Over watering and wild swings of PH levels get new growers ever time. Read every thing you can, terra canna has great site.Fresh air is your best friend, Bugs are the lazy growers worst night mare,KEEP YOUR GROW CLEAN. Watch when using bottle water,you may have to add cal-mag or plants lock out, turn yellow 5or6week of budding.Talk to your plants,your a co2 machine take advantage. Gentics help! You get what you pay for don,t be cheap when picking seeds. Play safe

a fair few of the problems are not problems at all after the first week. i wouldnt go cheap on a set up, their are some great setups on ebay used section. i like uk 420 for grow setups or grow diaries

Hesi has an enzyme based product that no others have, lmao, enzymes been around a long time, nearly every brand on the planet has an enzyme based product. I have been using one brand for over 10 years that's not Hesi
