I <3 bicycles, but ONLY in the Netherlands. It's so common there and I just love it. That's the best form of transportation :-)

Goedemorgen, Folks!

The english "v" (like in "vulcano" or "victor") would be too soft in pronounciation. It's more a strong, sharper tone like the "f" from "folks" or "fantastic"...

But at least... Have a good ride everybody!!!

...
a quickie route for looking up a word/phrase and checking for pronunciation is to type
"english dutch translation" into your browser URL field, and this page will pop up
(if your default search engine is google)...

then, just enter...

hit the little sound button for each language's pronunciation.
that middle sound between "v" and "f" in dutch can be a nuanced toughie,
like the "soft d" sound in danish.

CC- i don't really know danish (for mange "unknown unknowns", like grammar)...
we've only been introduced, but hopefully we "LEg GOdt" wth each other. :)
tak, men "Rød Grød med Fløde" er "soft d hell"!
i still can't pronounce it without my tongue turning into a wagging doormat for my nose. :P

Riding a bicycle is an amazing Dutch experience in especially in Amsterdam. Locals and tourists uses bicycle just because of Amsterdam's traffic and confusing streets. Thanks.

I love riding a bicycle and I hope that I can easily find places where you can rent it when I visit Amsterdam next month. I want to see a lot of places and just rest and relax riding a bicycle and seen good views.

You will find such a place. You will struggle not to. I myself shall be arriving at Central. Hiring a bike and not returning it until it is time to go home.
It's all about THC for me.

...but with the bikes always remember to "let op" and be very, very careful not to get stuck in or slip on the tram tracks because this could end up in a very, very painful bike crash. Seen it live...

Now remember, guys, this thread is not about biking but about the "mooie Nederlandse taal"!

"Pas op!" - preferably spit out between grinding teeth, whilst madly ringing the bell (or even better slamming breaks that sound like a drunk goose with a throat infection, looking at you Nugs...), will have you speeding along and dodging tourist like a champ! :)
Always know where your towel is! :wtf:
