Starting to look like a great gathering, might end up with a really decent crowd over 420 :D :!: we have a few toke and talks set up which is good, will we be having another visit to Het Ballon over or on 420? If not I will make my own way down there on one them days :D

Lemming did you decide on what we will be using as our ACD headquarters/base while we are all in town :?: or are we having a combination of bases? As some of you hardcore heads are in town earlier in the week, you should have sorted a base out to party in and for us late comers to join you at :D

@Trad glad you were able to sort some more dig's out man :!:

Well I think it should be a collective decision, not just mine.
As you say, it's important that we have a base where we hang out in the evening and new arrivals can catch up.
We always lament having the Nes as our base. Especially when it was a coffeeshop and a bar, it was the perfect place.
In recent years Batavia has tended to be our main base, plus Utopia and Voyagers particulary appealing to non-drinkers with us. Last year we spent some time in the new Plug Lounge.

None of these are perfect. It has been pointed out that we're supposed to be about coffeeshops and so shouldn't be hanging out in a bar with alcohol and tobacco smoke. On the other hand, many of us like a beer with our vapes, bongs and dabs. There's also the point that bars tend to be open later than coffeeshops. In the past we've often been around Utopia earlier in the evening and Batavia later.

A big advantage of Batavia is that it's easy to find. Another is that it's big. I gather the advantage of having Voyagers next door may not be as significant as it used to be though. There's still Central close by but I think that closes quite early.

Plug Lounge seemed to have some of the staff friendliness of the old Utopia (not up to Ingi standards, obviously!) It has the advantage of a coffeeshop next door but is not so appealing as a bar.

One other place I was reminded of recently and that we might like to consider is Susies Saloon. On the few occasions I've been there it seems like a nice smoker's bar. It's very central and surrounded by coffeeshops. If it's warm there's outdoor space by the canal too.

So, what do all of you planning on coming think? Where are your favourite coffeeshops and bars in the centre of the city? And residents like Gapie and Nugs, where do you recommend these days?

Due to a string of vehicle thefts I’m unlikely to attend but I would also +1 on suzies, it’s a decent spot.

does susies still have the glass partition splitting the venue in two? ..... it was way to smokey last time i went in there which is a shame 'coz it has always been frequented by the friendliest locals in the city. if the partition has been done away with then all's good.

the winston springs to mind too .... has a beer garden if the weather is favourable

Hey AzLaker, I just noticed that you arrive on the same date/time as me.
We should definitely hookup at the airport and head in for an early puff.

Susies, doesn't really matter to me.

Susies, doesn't really matter to me.
I like that idea Trad. I'll PM you the first of April to arrange a place to meet at the airport.

Also Susies sounds good to me.
