Mostly done now I think.

We're now on phpBB 3.3.3 (phpBB is the software that the forums are built with).

Fairly painless upgrade this time, which is always good.

We also use a number of extensions to basic phpBB, such as mChat and Hide Bots. Hide Bots means that the full list of search engine bots scanning the forums at any time is only shown to me so you get a cleaner display.
I've found that updates go more smoothly if I turn off all of the extensions during the process. That's why chat disappears and the bots appear.
In actual fact, I think some past issues were due to an extension called 'Last Post Avatar'. This was quite a nice one but seems to break everything so I keep it turned off now.

I've checked for updates on all the extensions and installed the latest where necessary. This includes mChat version 2.1.4. A couple of people reported some kind of issues with the previous version so maybe this will fix those. If not, please create a new topic in this forum and explain what happens as best you can and I'll look into it.
