That was fucking amazing, what a day it was here in CPH!

The city was one big party, well at least the parts where the tour was, other places were as empty as during the lockdown because everyone, not just fans, saw this as a once in a lifetime chance for a unique experience and (ofc, it is Copenhagen) a massive party 😁

The feeling you get when the riders fly past you, just centimeters away at speeds between 50 and 70 kph needs to be experienced, it is wild and these guys are brave beyond words. You find yourself making loud exclamations of disbelief and in a state of very tense excitement, when these guys brush against the barriers or barely keep the bike under them, while skidding through a 90 degrees turn on wet cobblestones going 40+ kph... 🀯🀯🀯

We walked around a third of the route, stopping several times where we found good spots to see the riders and ofc making a couple of detours for smokes, finally breaking off at Nyhavn and crossing the bike / pedestrian bridge at the end, to have a few beers and smokes with our friends at the lab at Christiania brew house and watch the conclusion of the stage on their big TV

We were lucky enough to see several of the GC contenders and time trial specialists fly by, including Tadej Pogadcar and Wout van Aerts right after each other at a great point where they slowed down from max speed and went through a tight turn, and opened up for another high speed straight, incredible πŸ‘πŸ˜

Looking forward to today's stage, think it is going to be very interesting, there's quite a bit of wind and the final part will be a nightmare for some if they are split into groups. The stage screams break aways and many of the local riders looking to make a mark and GC + sprinter teams trying to keep things calm up to the final part, great stuff. Massive crowds have already gathered along the route as well, so it looks to be another party today! πŸ‘πŸ˜

Sounds Fantastic @CouphenagenCouple :D  From the highlights I have seen so far it has been a good start to the Tour, with some good racing especially in yesterdays stage of Dunkirk. The Danes gave the riders a cracking send off at the start of the race and the crowds through them early stages were amazing which I can only guess the atmosphere was electric for the crowd and the riders. Lets hope the French keep the stages lined with loads of spectators which in yesterdays stage they did but not as deep as the earlier crowds. :D

It was an amazing experience and everyone gave it their all to make sure that TDF 2022 starts the proper way 😁 Gonna be interesting how it plays out this year, with Roglic and Vingegaard teaming up against Pogadcar, and Yates looking in good shape. I am afraid I won't be watching most of the stages live, just catching some of it and watching recap in the evening as I've just landed in Catalunya with the fam

Did you see all the climate protestors who super glued their hands to the road and chained their necks altogether on yesterdays stage, they had to hold the peleton back, sort of split the race a bit. Has been some really good riding so far :D

Didn't see that live no, but caught a recap and that the tour management screwed up the restart, giving the breakout about a minute too much lead... πŸ˜‚

Also caught recap of Vingegaard's phenomenal ride, ofc set up by the great performance of Jumbo Visma and watched a live blog with small vids today as he defended the yellow jersey. Fuck it is a wicked nice TDF

Cracking stage today, what a brutal climb it was and well done to Tom Pidcock who got the stage win today and on his maiden tour as well, looks like he may have a promising future. Chris Frome getting on the podium with a 3rd place shows that he is starting to get back to full fitness and some good form :D

Podgar tried to break Vingegaard twice towards the end of the stage but couldn't get away another good ride from both of these riders, they look a cut above most of the rest.

Blinding TDF and also a baking one with the heat there :D

Another interesting stage today, without it going completely nuts. It does look like the next two days will be more than interesting, with Soler out Pogadcar is now down one man to Vingegaard again and has so far to show that he can break away for real.

To be able to take it away from Jonas on the time trial, I think Tadej needs to be within a minute, probably less than that. Will he be able to take a minute and a half on Jonas over the next two days? It is going to be very interesting to see what happens... Allez Vingegaard! 😁

Vingegaard defends the jersey another day, despite being isolated for a good while on the last part of the stage. It's beginning to look extremely interesting for Jonas, looking forward to the last mountain stage tomorrow and the TT on Saturday

What a great stage today, masterful tactics from Jumbo Visma, great individual performances from many riders (including Pogadcar, who is a true champion) and Vingegaard showing that he is the best damn rider out there at the moment!!! Thank the flying spaghetti monster for good beer, strong hash and very nice gin and tonics to get me through that. Can't wait for the TT, gon a get absolutely smashed and enjoy the tension and excitement.... πŸ˜πŸ‘

:D Yes what a stage, saw a few near crash's which were controlled amazingly  J.Vingegaard was on top form and is looking very good. Agree with @CouphenhagenCouple that he has got to be the best rider out there at the present time

Overall General Rankings Are :

1st - J. Vingegaard
2nd - T. Pogacar.
3rd - G. Thomas.

and the Overall Team Standings Are :

1st - INEOS GRENADIERS.
2nd - GROUPAMA - FDJ.
3rd - JUMBO - VISMA.

Chris Frome has had to pull out of the rest of the tour after testing positive for covid.

Quality TDF and looking forward to the last few stages
