Alp Hotel (balcony)

Post by Rara_wid »

I see members asking about balcony rooms quite often so I thought I would share my experience, this hotel had no objections and even knew I would be smoking on the balcony! The only instructions asked of me was to keep the door closed while doing so.located out west 5/10 mins from the plug west , 1 ehulp and mr k to name a few , Albert heijn across the road. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a balcony , the size will differentiate depending on size of room you book.Tram stop directly outside opposite side of the road , all in all it ticks a lot of boxes.Only slight downside is those dreaded stairs in the hotel which are In typical Amsterdam style , very narrow and steep! Hope this helps anyone looking for central location with a balcony.

Excellent hotel. They offered free hot drinks upon check in just ask for a cup. That was really nice to have a nice hot chocolate coffee or if you prefer tea that on your way out or in each time or even when relaxing at the hotel. The room I got was on the 4th floor and no lift. That's a lot of stairs no matter how in shape you are. I would stay here again any day of the week. Unfortunately it seems for a balcony to be worth it, the weather can't be too cold or it's just unbearable.

It seemed at times the gas line wasnt effectively working to heat the room. My guess is they control at reception to minimize getting too warm I'm not sure there was only once or twice I recall being uncomfortable for a brief moment because of it.

Staff helped me up the stairs with a suitcase even and said it you smoke just shut the door on the balcony, provided ash tray on balcony , people who cleaned the room tidied up around the bubbler. Don't leave any half burned joints in the tray during cleaning it will get tossed.

Cheers and thanks for someone positing this gem
