Bit late, but I stayed here September 24.
It's a hostel Jim(Jan), but not as we know it; it's actually several Railway Sleeper cars (former Austrian Railways I think) in a siding next to Sloterdijk Station.
Priced a bit below the typical City Centre prices, it's certainly unique and surprisingly quiet considering you're sleeping less than 10 metres from a busy Mainline.
Sleeping arrangements are 6 bunks per compartment, beds themselves were comfortable and definitely better than most other hostels I've visited before.
Staff were amazing: very helpful, had tons of suggestions and more than happy for people to smoke on the picnic tables beneath a big parasol out front. I was however asked by the owner not to roll inside the sleeping compartment or common areas, to avoid the smell for other guests.
They also provide bike hire, although the push iron I was given was a bit...ropey. I made it as far as Ruthless on Hoofdweg (about 4km) before my faith in it ran out and I headed back.
The one, obvious, downside is its distance from the City Centre. It's 10 mins on NS (train) or 40 mins on Tram or Metro, which run a bit later than the train. With adequate planning, this wouldn't be an issue; just don't be like me who stumbles out of a bar at 2am and has to face an hour-long walk back...
Strong 7/10, will definitely use again for solo trips
