Lemming's New Toy!

As you probably know, I'm a Volcano superfan!

For anyone who doesn't know, the Volcano is (IMHO) the Rolls Royce of vaporizers. It's made by Storz & Bickel.

I first fell in love with the Volcano in the early noughties when they began to appear in Amsterdam coffeeshops. Then, in April 2005, I asked Storz & Bickel whether they'd like to send me one to review for the ACD. The silver machine duly arrived and I duly wrote about it.

Then I carried on raving about it for the next 20 years!

One of the things I love about the Volcano is that sharing amongst a group only involves passing around a bag, not the actual machine. Despite that, mine had at least one dent from a hard life of near daily use and adventures at many a party.

I know S&B guarantee their products for a couple of years but I don't know what they think the actual life expectancy of a Volcano is. I can tell them and you that mine lasted for about 20 years. Even now it's not completely dead, just struggling a bit to fill a bag.

Fortunately, in 2022 S&B also sent me a Mighty+ portable vape (see here). We have been taking this to Amsterdam with us every year and it's a great little vape for when on tour. As the Volcano was dying, we began using the Mighty at home too. It's good but no substitute for a real Volcano. So, I wrote to S&B again and asked them if they'd like to send me a new Volcano.

I'm glad to say they agreed and a lovely new 25th anniversary edition Volcano Classic is now residing at ACD Towers. It's dark green with a deep gloss finish that I think looks even better than this picture.

It came with a few accessories and I still have the filling chamber and mega bags from my old Volcano. So far, though, I've only used the new one with the modern "easy valve" kit. It fills these small ready-made bags in seconds. Very impressive!

I'll let you know how I get on as I try more options. Here's hoping this one lasts for the next 20 years. I'll be rather old by then. Do you think they'll let me take my Volcano into the care home?

So, thanks very much Storz & Bickel. I remain your biggest fan!

Many good times using the Volcano in Amsterdam with the 4-20 crowd, especially at De Kade coffeeshop.

Still loving my new Volcano :D

After a while I realised the bag I was using is actually the special one that can be customised. I've now switched over to a real disposable one. I'll have to clean the adaptor on the special one and try it with a party bag sometime.

Meanwhile, I thought I read that our @Jolly was trying out a bubbler device that works with Volcano Classics and Hybrids but I can't find it now.

Anyway, Jolly or anyone have any experience of these things please?

Here it is buddy. https://vaping4health.co.uk/products/gl ... id-classic

I heard a rumour Santa was bringing you this on the whatsapp.

It works well but watch when you're removing it from the chamber stem as the o ring has a habit of sticking in the bubbler. Easily removed just a bit annoying.

Really does reduce the bickel tickle and still keeps the flavour.
